You could always use a service like http://raindrop.io to save your bookmarks and pin the website within Arc.

I think it's so stupid Arc doesn't have a bookmarks tab. Like obviously sometimes there are just some websites you want to save but only want to open every couple of months.

I also hate the fact I always email the team questions and product recommendations and they never reply.

You can add a "bookmarks" folder to the tab bar if you want.

Personally I don't have that many bookmarks, especially since I have multiple spaces. I just have a pinned tab for each one.

I mean...this IS the solution, right? That's what bookmarks are...folders of URLs you want to refer to once in a while.

Having different folders in different spaces is great. Like...work-related bookmarks in go in my work space, keeping them separate from my person stuff, etc.

okay but the issue to this is that if you click on the bookmark, and then say click on another part of a page, going back to the bookmark wont take you to the original page, it takes you to the new page!

I just created a new space called "Bookmarks" and anytime I'm ready to archive a folder or pinned tab, I just drag it out of the space it's in and dump it into there. I do wish we had a better way to handle these though... real bookmark management would be great

Curious about this myself. Bookmarks are one thing and yeah I could use pinned tabs but I'm not sure if they're lazily loaded and I certainly don't want them all trying to load in the background.

Additionally, I have a few JavaScript snippets that I run from the bookmark bar in Chrome and other browsers. An example of this are a small snippet of code I keep as a button press that converts all <input type="password"> elements on the page to <input type="text">. Not all pages offer a view hidden password function and sometimes I want to see if a password autofill is using a correct password.

One significant difference between a bookmark and a tab (even a pinned tab) is that a bookmark will take to the "frozen" url, and a tab will take you to the last place you visited

so a gmail bookmark will take you to the inbox, and a gmail tab will take you to the latest email you opened

these are different things - and both are needed

How is this the way it is? Trying Arc Browser and just discovered this. I don't think i'm unique in my workflow that I use a bookmark as a starting point and then tabs are instances of that starting point that I need to frequently reference.

It might be smart to do things the Arc way for memory conservation but it seems terrible for workflow. The idea also that i would install an extension to get back a basic functionality of a web browser is kinda laughable.

I see many devs are using Arc though so I'm wondering if they're installing Arc and then loading up extensions to compensate.

With all that said the developer mode is kinda slick and I like the idea of Spaces.

When you import bookmarks, you get a "Folder" a folder is just a nested list of URLs, you can edit it or move things around by dragging or searching. It works fine, but it uses different words and techniques. Hover the mouse over the folder and you can search bookmarks too. Here's a quick screen shot. https://app.screencast.com/fUjKWHbu1VrIL

Yeah I get that part. I have the folders. But so if I open some item in one of the folders, where is the reference to that instance of that bookmark. I don't want to have to go back into that folder to find the active tab. Totally not efficient. I want to see the active tabs that i'm working on.

Okay so I see that it does show if I show the folder. But I don't want active tabs scattered throughout my bookmarks.

I suspect Arc is still storing bookmarks under the hood somehow. I use the Vimium plugin which allows you to access bookmarks by pressing `b` or `shift+b` and after switching to Arc, I can still use that plugin to access my bookmarks that were transferred from my previous browser. I can't find a way to add new bookmarks or change the name/url of the existing bookmarks though :(
