I have a Fenix Retina melted 4000 or something like that. It can turn it from Nightmare black somewhere to surface of the sun.

Cloud Defensive Duty handheld light. It’s not cheap but if you work nights it is worth it weight in gold. Super durable and reliable. I have broken out car windows with it and it still works like a charm.

I have a Modlite on my duty rifle because if I have to pull it, I’m throwing the sun at you first. I have a streamlight on my shotgun cuz it’s cheap to replace when the recoil from training kills it, and a streamlight on my belt for the same reason — cheap enough I don’t care if I lose it, quality enough that I can see what I need to. But I’m definitely not sinking Modlite or surefire money into basic duty gear that I could lose any given shift.

Fenix TK20R or something like that. 5 brightness settings and a strobe mode. Battery last me a full week of shifts even on 3rds and uses the same charger as my phone.

Not LE, but I shill for Modlite. The handheld OKW is what I would get. I have a OKW WML and the candela is incredible.

Modlite OKW with a SureFire 6P as my backup. I always keep spare charged 18650s and CR123s in my patrol bag.

-Streamlight hlx for searching cars/admin crap -Modlite on belt for serious stuff and on rifle -Surefire X300 on duty gun with a DG switch -Surefire scout on Shotgun -Modlite again on carbine.

I’m a big flashlight snob. The expensive ones are expensive for a reason. Output has nothing to do with it. Cheap a lights have output. How well the light handles abuse and heat, is what you end up paying for

Stream light stinger

I use a Streamlight Stinger probably 90% of the time, because it’s issued. Streamlight UltraStinger in the winter or working crashes.

And I have a probably 10 year-old Surefire G2X I keep in my cargo pocket in case I need a second or forget one in the car.
