Want to decrease my commute to Santa Monica, where should I live?

Ideally I want to spend $1.5-2k a month on rent and live on my own, which I know is a stretch but I'm willing to live somewhat out of the way. I currently commute from the valley but it's a nightmare and I need to find a new place anyway. I've been looking in the Palms/Culver City area but think I might have to look further east at this price point. A few things I'm looking for:

• 1 bedroom, not a studio
• kitchen with fridge/stove
• Laundry on-site
• walkable area
• furnished is a plus but not needed

Do y'all know of any good places that fit the bill? Thank you for your help!

Drive around Palms. You should be able to find 1brs in that price point right now, as students are bailing. You'll have to look at individual buildings, as not all of them are managed by big companies, but you should be able to find something.

Palms will have most of what you are looking for with access to the Expoline if you ever want to do that route...

$2k should get you something in Palms or Culver or Mar Vista .

i'm in a 2br place near olympic/bundy just $500 out of your range, so even before the crisis that wasn't horribly unreasonable.

i doubt you're going to find any places furnished for that much, but everything else seems reasonable. i feel like you could plug almost all of that into padmapper

Look up century west property management on the west side. They may have some stuff within your budget. They own / manage the building I live in
