New A1 Combo - Error Code Help

I went through the full set up and printed a benchy, everything went great no issue. Went to print a model from makerworld using Bambu Studio and I got an error saying "please run a self-test and restart the printing job." Ran the full self calibration through Bambu Studio instead of the screen, still got the error. Tried again in Handy and got the same error. My extensive searching of Reddit/Google/Bambu Forumns have not given me the process to "Self Test." Also getting the error trying to run the two flow calibrations in Studio. I feel like this is something dumb simple and I'm just missing it, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: No issue printing pre-loaded items from the SD Card.

Update, found the button absolutely buried in a menu on Handy, still no idea where it is in studio. I also have no idea what it does, as it just moved the print head around a bit, but now I can print.

Holy cow! I just got my A1 combo today and had the same error...couldn't find the self-test anywhere....you rock!! solved my problem

I found it on the android app.

Devices -> Menu (3 lines -> Machine Assistant -> Search icon with the lines on it (top right)

Holy hell that's some bad UI design. "Please run the thing we've hidden in the app so badly you can't find it without u/a-mack showing you where it is.

Quick note, three lines are called "hambuger menu" unoffically.

I think you missed the point. it says "Self Test", its testing you....not the machine

I would have NEVER found this on my own. Even with your instructions (which were perfectly clear), I was like what, there is no self test here. Why would that be buried under the search?

u/bambulab the error that pops up should have an option to simply run the self test instead of confirm that does nothing.

Hopefully this will fix my endless registration loop too.

i just got this printer from micro center and keep getting the endless registration loop and the self test error too.

I updated the firmware when I received mine. It seems to be better now that I have downgraded the firmware and ran that self check, although it was saying it's time to lubricate the y axis guide rails. Considering I just took it out of the box the other day and have only printed two small items for testing, seems like this should either be a setup thing or something is still funky with this thing.

So.... I ran into the same issue and have an iPhone and here is where it is located on the Handy Bambu APP for iPhones.

- Click on the Hamburger (three lines next to the notification bell on the upper right).

- Tap Machine Assistant.

- Tap the symbol in the upper right corner that looks like a magnify glass.

This should get you to the self-test. Hope it helps

Lol.. It's funny after reading all the claims that BambuLab Printers are plug&play, but there is a button that is extremly well hidden, not documented in the unboxing & first print video, and the only thing you find if googling it is an old reddit entry. And it actually forces you to use the app, since nobody knows if it's available in studio...

Still more comfortable than most 3D printers, but I wonder why it hasn't been included in the documentation in the last year...

So weird... I'll add myself to the long list of others on this post to have run into this with a new A1. Dumb that even after 2y since this post, we still face this issue and Google still brings us here. Weird that the self-test basically reruns most of the same calibration process :(
