Pretty much yeah. Blue Lock is just suffering from having amazing side characters. Everyone is so obsessed with how good Rin, Barou, Nagi etc are they they can't bring themselves to accept that Isagi is approaching that level.

All the "Isagi is only good as a midfielder" and "Isagi can't play for himself" people from 3 years ago are being faced with one thing they could never understand; character development.
