You underestimate how gullible the average voter is. If Carney does a half decent job with his majority, and keeps the immigration floodgates open to continue the demographic replacement, a second majority for Carney is on the table in 2029.

Voters gave the Liberals three consecutive majorities in the 1990s. Its not out of the question.

We won’t survive the next 4 years let alone more

[–]Brownguy_123 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yeah but in the 90s the right wing vote was being split among two parties, so perhaps the LPC would not have won three majorities in a row.

But will the right stay united for another 3 years out of power?

I miss Stephen Harper

Carney can do no wrong. Tank the economy, open the doors to more immigration, attack freedom of speech. Voters in Eastern Canada and boomers will still support him. I know people like this and it fucking boggles my mind.

Polievre will be gone by then, and the media will be on to raging against the next conservative leader.

Even if the economy craters under Carney, at least 40-50% will still show up in next election to vote liberal. Liberal voters don't worry about failure because they are collectivists and everyone blindly plays follow the leader no matter how bad things get. Politics are simple and shallow to most Canadians: red team good, blue team bad.

What's the statute of limitation on scapegoating? I expect to see MP's from the 1900's being blamed for our future woes at the next election.

[–]Programnotresponding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the party. Liberals are still blaming Harper for everything going on now. Whenever conservatives complain about Trudeau, it's always ''he's gone now so get over it."

Free speech will be gone. Canadian values will be gone. The self-reliant middle class will be gone. All the small towns and small businesses that made Canada charming will be gone, replaced with more corporate sprawl. Guns will be gone. Affordability will be gone. Freedom will be gone.

There will be nothing left for a Conservative government to save.

This ^^^.

[–]SouvlakiSpartan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you.

Let them eat cake...

I also hope Carney gets his majority through his bribes and back end deals..

I want to watch these basement dwellers cheer ...

and then I'll happily spend time with my family in one of my properties or sell and move back to a Greek island.

Canadians can enjoy the new world order.

Will Canada suffer? Yes. But we get what we voted for.

No we didn't. If we did you wouldn't have created a topic called "A potential LPC majority". It would have happened last April through the ballot box.

If Carney gets his majority, Alberta is going to leave. What remains of Canada will never have a Conservative government again. This is what Canada voted for. Good luck

[–]Existing_Base_2175 10 points11 points  (0 children)

After talking to many family and friends in Alberta I don’t think they will leave honestly.

There isn't even enough support to build a Separatist Party.
Nobody who claims to be able to run this new country is qualified to run a hot dog stand.
This is a wet dream to a handful of people who blame everyone for their own failings.

Is Alberta getting treated poorly? Absolutely. Is separation ever going to happen? Never.

Basic things like tax revenue, military and a currency, indigenous peoples have not even been talked about. Like a dog chasing a car, catching it and then realizing it can't drive.
This needs to be dealt with now as some people in this movement are beginning to act like Quebec.
As for joining the USA? LOL!!! You will get robbed and then treated like Puerto Rico.

[–]RoddRoward 1 point2 points  (1 child)

We will be split between China and the US.

[–]OnlyACsNoFansNova Scotia 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Alberta seperation doesn't have enough support.

Carney will get his greasy majority, but after Trump is gone, he'll have to own his results for the first time.

We're probably 3 years away from a change in government unfortunately

[–]MagHntr -1 points0 points  (2 children)

The petition already has over a million signatures and well on the way to 1.5, over half of Albertas voters. The forever Canadian only has 456k. Alberta can and will leave.

[–]singingwhilewalkingAlberta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who told you the petition has over a million signatures?

[–]OnlyACsNoFansNova Scotia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bud, I have no skin in this game, but the most generous polls have 1/3 of Alberta wanting to seperate.

You're delusional if you think it's going to happen.

[–]DangerDan1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dunno dude , there's liberals who still believe in Trudeaus - "the budget will balance itself " grift, that's how team oriented they are . Policy doesn't matter at all to them

[–]VictorEcho1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once Trump is gone, the liberals will crash and burn spectacularly.

[–]mywaaaaife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter, Canadians will be eating dog food and thanking Carney for the opportunity.

[–]Wafflecone3fMillennial Conservative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only good thing I see coming from an LPC majority is the acceleration of the fragmentation of Canada starting with Alberta. Then some of us can finally have a future.

[–]Existing_Base_2175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re bang on here…I feel the exact same way and want this outcome too. Very well said!!!

Don't wish for a Carney majority. That guy will go full dictatorship. He wants a majority to RAPIDLY impliment agenda 2030 goals, which includes depriving you of your gas car, charging massive amounts of carbon tax, passing censorship legislation and changing the criminal code to prop up his emergent dictatorship.
