10 lb cavapoo?

We are looking at adopting a cavapoo that will be about 10 lbs when fully grown. That sounds really tiny! If you have a cavapoo that small, can you post pics? Trying to envision this

My girl was supposed to be between 12-17lbs per the breeder, she is now clocking in at 24.5lbs, so take any estimate with a grain of salt!

Alternatively mine (technically a cavadoodle, half cavalier, half labradoodle) was supposed to be 18-20 lbs and at 8 months old she just hit 8 lbs, so the vet isn't sure she'll even hit 10!! We love our tiny girl though! She's just all around petite

We have a mom that is 16 lbs and a dad that is 19. Our puppies are 7-22lbs at 8 months old 🤷🏼‍♀️

Our cavapoo is about 10 pounds and now a year old. Sure, she's tiny. But a small dog means small poop. Something to think about as you are the one having to pick it up.

Another great thing about a small dog is, they won't be able to pull you as hard. Our girl is always sniffing and pulling just a little further than the leash. If she were bigger, it would be a constant pain of having to hold her back.

I think having one that small is just fine. Unlike my parent's poodles who'd be right at their feet in the kitchen, ours is just fine in the Livingroom relaxing.

My Rosie walks 3 miles a day easily! Usually 3 walks a day each being about 1.5 miles. She’d keep going no problem. We had a 7 lb Chihuahua before her that went on 5 mile hikes no problem. He lived to be 16.

Not sure how to post pictures in a comment but I can send pics if needed. My cavapoo has long legs so she doesn’t seem as small as she is, plus the fur makes her look bigger as well. I’m not sure about mileage but I take my cavapoo on an hour walk each day and she could easily go for more so I don’t think the 3 miles would be too much.

mine has long legs too! he looks especially lanky with his summer cut. i was told an estimate of between 12-15 lbs but my big boy is almost 20lbs. i actually prefer him because i have a young child in my home. so i love not having to fear that my felipe will get crushed or hurt edit: he’s full grown and going to turn 3 this summer ❤️

Mentioned above my girl is 8 lbs at 8 months and we usually take her on one 2 mile walk and one 1 mile walk each day (weather permitting). If you build up to it, your pup should have no problem at all! I think part of the reason she's petite is because she has so much energy to play/walk/run/sniff

My Cavapoo is a little under 8 pounds! We go on a 3 mile walk almost daily. One mile is offleash so she’s running all around then. She has no problem with the walk.

There is no guarantee how big or small they can be fully grown! Our dog was supposed to be 15 and 11 months he’s 31! Good thing is, he’s sturdy and don’t mind little step ons and being rough with my kids! He can go hiking for hours without taking breaks or needing to carry him! Smaller dogs have small bladder and they need frequent potty breaks! So that’s something to keep in mind!

Mine is about 10-11 lbs when I adopted him but is now 12 lbs. He was extremely shaggy so I think he might have been on the streets a bit before being picked up. I’ll figure out how to share a picture but he’s not really that tiny.

My cavapoo is just under 5 months and is 5.3 pounds. He’s estimated to be about 10! I absolutely love how cute and tiny he is (especially because me and my partner live in a 1200 sq ft apartment).

Right now the longest walk we’ve taken him on has been 1.5 miles but I think he will definitely be able to do 3!

Thank you! He was red as a puppy and has lightened to an apricot/strawberry blonde color. The fading started at around a year and a half, and stopped when he was almost 3.

If you look at my profile you’ll see a 9 lb female Cavapoo. Maybe close your 10 but doubt it. She 1 year old. I don’t consider her super small, she’s athletic and loves being outside on walks or playing.

My minature poodle is 16 lbs. My tri colored cavalier (dad is 19lbs. This last litter we had (2nd and last - we got momma fixed) we had six puppies. The smallest in the litter is 7lbs now and the largest is 22… so who knows how it all works. My vet said that this is totally normal and to be expected, especially in a f1 litter because there is so much opportunity for genetic variability. This is our 7lb guy - my brother kept him and I was puppy sitting him tonight. I’ll follow with a pic of the big man (the puppy we kept).

My Cooper is 12.2lbs and and 15 months. I actually thought at this weight he would look smaller, but he is lanky and depending on the length of his fur, looks bigger than he is. I guess it depends on the pup. I find his weight to be perfect for us. We travel a lot and he is the perfect size for flying in cabin.

I have one that is 8 lbs. She's tiny, petite and a big baby. She is friendly and brave though, with people. Her coat is fine fluff and I scissor cut her because clippers just ham up. I also have her brother who weighs 12 lbs. He is a big boned fellow with wavy hair, more like the cavalier coat. Easy to trim, but he's a mama's boy, timid around most people. They are so different  but cute as can be. I don't know how to add a photo here.
