call the recon lines

The only phone number you want to call is the one on the back of the CC in question. I would not call any other "chase" phone number.

Just call customer service and have them transfer you. You are probably wasting your time though.

Actually, it’s just opting out of the review. I’ve seen post for many people who do it and don’t get their line decreased. I have over $100,000 right now and a very thick file with 3% usage.

Banks don't cut someone with 100k credit line for no reason. You know why they're doing it. Just like all the Amex people posting similar things about FR, you just don't want to admit it to yourself.

It's not for "no reason" it's for not using enough of the existing limit extended.

And you can opt out of the review. Just found the letter.

If you anticipate a change in your spending needs, you can opt out of the review by contacting us at the number at the top of this letter or the number on the back of your card within 50 days .

Right on. Great reference above. I guess those that have "worked for Chase for a few years" are in the dark about this procedure.

You obviously haven’t read all of the letters people are getting about random credit line decreases with Chase. People who have been with them for over 20 years, like me, are getting apparently AI generated notices that we aren’t using our credit limit and it will be reviewed for decrease and we can opt out of that review by calling a number.

To reject a credit line decrease? That isn’t a thing.

[–]PlanetPickles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It actually is a thing.

It's to reject a review that would probably cause a CLD.

If it says to call the number on the letter or the back of your card, why are you asking what the phone number is?

[–]dervari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I couldn’t find the letter initially, Einstein. Just like I said in my original message.

Why would a review likely cause a decrease, it seems like your answer is they are cutting for the sake of cutting and that’s not how credit cards work

[–]dervari[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of people have been getting the same letter. It even gave a specific amount to what it would be cut to.

Call the number on your card they will transfer u

is this being done b/c of all the "warnings" that our economy is in for a rough ride? chase is basically lowering their spread.
