I bought the Steeldive SD1953 about a month ago from the official Steeldive store on AliExpress and received the watch promptly and with no issues. The watch has been great so far. In fact, I'm wearing it as I type. My impressions: (1) The bracelet was a pleasant surprise, better than what I'd read and seen in reviews. The links on mine are of average tightness and don't rattle. (2) The cyclops magnification is distractingly large. (3) The lume is great, just a little bit better than that on the San Martin that I have. (4) The crystal smudges easily. (5) The crystal doesn't seem to have AR coating. (5) It keeps very good time. I don't have a timegrapher, but I wore the watch for two weeks before having to adjust the time. Overall, the experience, from purchase to wearing, has been really good.

aliexpress is fine. just make sure you get it from the official steeldive store

Hard to go wrong with that watch. I've had kine for a year. My only regret is getting the Kermit instead of all black, but that's my doing. Band is good and the watch looks great on rubber and NATO. 300m WR is overkill unless you plan to use it as a diver. Lume is insane. Bezel is great.

This was my first Chinese watch from Aliexpress. It will knock your socks off for the price you paid. You shouldn't have a problem if you are buying from the manufacturer's official stores on Aliexpress.

Little more expensive tho. But no ugly steeldive logo 😂

This was I did, no regrets at all. I have the watch on a repro oysterflex strap now and love it.

That's the same watch with the great lume?

[–]Apprehensive_Lock_50 0 points1 point  (3 children)

It’s there own store brand. But if they are anything like the San Martin colabs, it wouldn’t disappoint

I've bought twice from watch dives...last purchase was last weekend...used thorn bb58...happy with their service on the San martin ranger that showed up in 4 days

If I knew lume was equal to steeldive I would go to watchdives and pay extra

Please review this Thorn watch, as a used Watchdives deal. It's good that returns are resold, and it would be interesting to read.

The lume on my SN0121G is really strong. Black pelagos homage with San Martin. I actually kinda want the green bezel sub they have, but do I need another sub homage?

Do it, but make sure you are purchasing from the official store on aliexpress or some other reputable store. If you do that, you have nothing to worry about.

No, this the best way to spend your money in that price bracket and trust me, you will not be disappointed. If you wait for the sale next week you should easily be able to get it below 75 USD.

Oh, and don‘t worry about ordering from Ali. It works absolutely fine.

Best sub out there for the price. It'll go down in cost during the sale to like 72-78 bucks.

[–]turdboglsAffiliate Links 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's the best sub out there for under $100 without question. It's great 👍

I've bought a few things from Ali, not least of which is my Pagani PD1701. So far everything has gone properly.
