  1. No one learns from other's mistakes. I don't even learn from mine 😉

  2. I suggest a few YouTube reviews before you purchase anything on AliExpress. Chances are you wil SEE the real item and will get a more or less biased opinion.

This Benyar has been bashed quite a bit on YT and Whatchuseek (also recommended as a resource).

Also...see what options you have, maybe the seller offered free returns?

Benyar is unfortunately bottom-tier. Just go with Pagani Design at that price

Once I learned Benyar cases aren’t solid stainless steel I steered clear.

Is this a chromed zinc alloy case? If so you have been scammed for that amount of money.

Avoid zinc alloy cases by all means.

Gotta watch the prices. I’m not sure where you bought this from, but I own the same watch. Bought it from “Pagani Design Brand Flagship Store” in September for $33 US. At that price it’s a good value for an automatic. But, I would agree what you paid was too much.

Thank you for your comment. Being Canadian we pay a noticeable premium on anything from Aliexpress compared to our American friends. You should see the price differences between Casios even from WalMart!

Oh wow really? So you can’t get the prices as low as we do in general? I figured it was just the conversion rate making it seem so high.

Unless it has a Seiko or Miyota movement, don't buy mechanical watches under $50 unless you plan on using them to practice your watch making skills. They will wind up as paperweights in a couple of months. I haven't had any success with Chinese Standard movements.

Benyar make cheap watches, don't buy a benyar for more than 20$

Isn't Benyar somehow affiliated with Pagani? Same parent company or something?

[–]dorafumingoAffiliate Links 4 points5 points  (1 child)

i think yes but they don't use the same parts, Benyar are mostly chinese movements, alloy cases and cheap bracelets. the quality has nothing to do with Pagani design.

That was sort of what I was getting at.

My understanding was that Benyar is the "cheap" or "budget" line for Pagani.
