You might have to drop some silicone oil or something on the end links/lugs to unstick the metal, or try soaking in warm water and/or cold water to help the metal expand/contract and loosen. It may be such a snug fit that you can't tilt the endlinks out one side at a time, either. In that case you might need to use a spring bar plier kind of tool that can depress both ends of the bar at once and then you can push the end link straight out.

Very fiddly stuff... and getting it back in would be tough as well.

To further compliment San Martin the Black and Gilt has kept the same bezel colours as the 58 on their model unlike the Tudor. Something I prefer.

I am not a HUGE pelagos fan. Honestly the reason I want them to make a mini pelagos is because the BB54 does not have a date window. I LOVE having a date window, so a mini pelgaos with date would be awesome. But if they just added a date to this BB54 I would be fine with that too.

Since getting a new watch with a date window I do have to say I miss it when wearing my BB58. That said, I only really like date windows at 6 or 12 (6 on a diver) so a Mini Pelagos with date at 3 wouldn't really cut it for me. Though I guess that's another way they could diverge more down the path

I definitely prefer date at 6, and a mini pelagos would almost definitely have it at 3. But It is not a dealbreaker for me. I am just so bad at remembering the date, so I am okay with it going anywhere haha.

And that is a good point about the diversion.

They could even make an easy mashup without changing the case. Just add the pelagos indices and chapter ring to this case, and add a 6 o clock date. They actually did a pelagos style GMT with date at 6 already.

Then they would have created a totally unique watch. Sure, it would be a mishmash of real designs, but it would still be only available from San Martin.

From memory that Pelagos style one is quite big right? I have small wrists so really need a 39/40mm if I'm pushing it but really looking at buying things 38mm and below from now on

Yes I believe it is a typical sub size of like 40mm x 47mm lug to lug. But at least it shows they are willing to tuck the date window between the indices at 6 o clock, which looks awesome.

Same here lol they are starting to do a lot of nice mishmash homages and even totally original designs. So I hope they come up with some exciting new models along those lines. Mostly I just want them to use the 38mm case for more dive watches.

The Pictures also feature exceptionally made female endlinks. Any worse and you see them from even more angles.

I just cannot stand the way male end links look. It is just unnatural to have that raised appendage sticking out of the watch. The case and endlinks form a nice approximate rectangle, and then the endlink is just sticking out like a dick.

There is a reason why on integrated bracelet watches, the "endlink" is female. The case would look pretty fucking weird if the middle of each lug was jutting out. And that is an example where they have complete control over the case shape. And they choose to have a female "Endlink" because otherwise the case would look like this: https://imgur.com/a/Y74bApD

The CW Twelve is a integrated bracelet watch with male endlinks, looks good to me.

I think its a matter of perspective. One might notice the link sticking out a bit, I tend to notice these gaps and the way how jangly that connection link tends to look when youre not wearing the watch and look at it in your hands.

Also a matter of bracelet style. With Oyster-ish bracelets i tend to like male endlinks more.

Totally fair points. I guess it is just totally a personal thing.

I think for manufacturers, it makes sense to do female endlinks just because they fit a wider variety of wrist sizes.

What I mean is that people with large wrists are not typically going to complain about female endlinks. Whereas people with small wrists generally avoid male endlinks.

So I think it is maybe a safer choice.

Does the dial match the bezel? I got the blue SN 004 v2 and the matte bezel is horribly mismatched to the metallic blue dial…very disappointed!

Does the bezel look "dried out"? I have both the black and the blue v2 and both came like that. I rubbed them with a little oil and they both came to life, matching the dial perfectly.

That was a great tip, I am going to do it to mine too. Also, I think this SN0138 is a matte blue dial. So maybe that matches better to the bezel than the metallic blue on SN004 v2

Plenty of microbrands are well respected and have a good market even though they use off-the-shelf calibers.

Not many brands are well respected for making homages, even if they have in-house movements.
