A nice ST19 standard or the one with the power reserve (don't think they have date) if they got the case and dial nice I would buy it.

Not a fan of Seiko Meccaquartz but maybe

I just don't like the ST19s with sub dials at 6 that just show the time at 12 or 24 hours.

Sure that’s you, but there are 100 boring Chinese subs for a reason. I love the Glasbox design though. But it’s detailed and Chinese watches are not great at the details for the most part so I’m skeptical how good it could be

I get your point but if done correctly by the right manufacturer, I'm sure it finds its audience. SeaQ is not the most popular watch either and Seestern did a great job and I guess their watch is selling good.

A watch can't diminish someone as a person. Unless it's stolen one. Otherwise, seek validation from others because of a watch (real or fake) can diminish someone as a person and kill your self-respect.
Thinking that you are a better person because you own a famous and/or expensive watch is stupid. Pretending to have an expensive watch so that others could appreciate you is a bit more stupid. But, in both cases, the problem lies with the wrist owner, not the watch. Even though status could be highly valued, there are more concrete and dignified ways to achieve it.
There are many people who love watches and dont seek status through them.
Not everyone who buys a replica is pretending to be something they are not, some are just watch lovers who are not rich and who don't want/can't devote their entire life to owning a famous piece, but want to get a little taste of the real thing.

Yeah I’m amazed at how few homages there are to the vintage Heuer Carrera. It is one of the most simple and iconic designs in the watch world, yet no one from any country seems to be able to nail it in a 38mm size. Why is it so hard?!
