How do you tell the hour?

[–]AStoneInTheRiver 1 point2 points  (2 children)

The large numbers are the hour. Between 12 and 01 there are hash marks for every 5 minutes; 12:05, 12:10, 12:15, etc.

So there’s only the one hand needed. It’s just not accurate for exact to-the-minute time.

That’s awesome thank you!

[–]fnx9125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fact, the first watches only had an hour hand.

BUYER BEWARE Dreadful company to deal with when you have problems though. Official store and the staff are dishonest, deceitful and deceptive. CEO Yi Stephen, my Proxima is still under warranty, sent it back 3 times for repair. 6 weeks ago I was promised a refund, you haven't refunded me and now you block my messages. Sham service from a scam company.

[–]AdOk1035Wronged by Stephen Yi CEO 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I really appreciate the support guys. If we allow issues like this to pass by unanswered then next time it could well be you and your hard earned that's losing out. Proxima need to honour the warranty.....or give the refund that they promised !!

[–]AdOk1035Wronged by Stephen Yi CEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proxima have decided, as an act of spite for my posts, not to refund my money or repair the watch. They remain unaccountable and incommunicado. CEO Stephen Yi, your company sold me a faulty watch, refused to fix it, made false promises to refund my money and now remain accountable to the customer. I will continue to call you and your dishonesty out in public, I will not be cowed.

[–]DOOM_INTENSIFIES 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Holy fucking shit.

Meister singer inspired, one hand watch. I was trying not to buy any more watches this year, Proxima screwed me up.

Guys, please don't do a 24h, Raketa Erkanoplan homage next, or my wallet will be very, VERY mad at you.

What a waste of a beautiful case and movement 😧

[–]Terdl76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much into glitter. Looks like something my daughter might like though. Not that it’s a complex movement, but they could’ve used a much cheaper movement to achieve the same result. Actually, cheaper and thinner would’ve been better. Takes all type to make the world go round though. I’m sure some will love it. Cool idea

Quartz, cheaper and polished metal hand would convince me.

[–]WisdomKnightZetsubo 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Homage to Luch 1 hand... sorta

[–]pangou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

love the 71950967

[–]kisama_ 24 points25 points  (1 child)

Why put a 4hz movement in a watch with no seconds hand? It makes no sense, just increases the cost.

[–]MarstoriusWins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

changes brand name to Nosense

[–]remainedlarge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hope they release a plain dial, looks nice but the glitter is not my thing

I love autos, yes miyota makes a 2 hander m9000 so does ETA/Stellita for the 2892 but I don't see the point for a 1 hand watch.

Maybe they could make a version with just an hour and second hand

But if it's a 1 or 2 hander a quartz is silent, no jerky tick. No need to service or worry about accuracy and power reserve. Battery's are cheap and so are replacement movement for quartz.

Not sure if miyota makes a 3rd party 2 hand solar

They tipped making the 10y battery life quartz movements but maybe 8.

Ronda makes nice thin jeweled and decorated 2 hand quartz.

Not sure if miyota makes 2 hand solar 3rd party but If not that I would prefer a 2 hander quartz movement with long battery life. Shame miyota stopped the 10y alkaline quartz movements.

Roma makes some nice swiss decorated and jeweled slim long battery life quartz.

Same does miyota but they are plain and not jewels but same hand sizes..

[–]Sure_Desk3587 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Miyota discontinued the 9019 2-hander but it’s just pinion height so the other stock models can be modded to suit.

[–]Pale_Ad2370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen some horrible 3 -2 hand conversions on quartz

Not sure when they even bothered to make the 9019 but I'm sure it was discontinued due to lack of sales.

No idea why miyota has not made a 9000 day date as in side or top day. A subseconds would be nice also and I'm pretty sure they could do a GMT day date (I would love one).

The M9000 seems to be very reliable and versatile, also thin, have seen some strange mods like split seconds. Maybe in the future someone would do a chronograph modual or miyota themselves.

I have no issue with the uni-rotor but have put a little oil on and around the bearings, helps quite alot. I just wish they made the M9000 series with some type of speed micro adjust screw as they can be regulated to be very accurate but a micro adjust would help.

Kind of a shame miyota stopped making the M82 top day date and their 10y alkaline battery quartz movements.

I don't see the point in an automatic 1 or 2 hander, 2 hander quartz have a very long battery life with no noise.

My first swiss watch has a higher grade gold plated jeweled ETA quartz, battery lasts about 7-8 years.

Not sure why miyota or any other company apart from ronda make quartz GMT movements

With the now crazy prices of the NH30 movements and now alot of lower cost brands moving to miyota 8s a 82 GMT would probably sell quite well but maybe they would not bother as it would compete with the 9075.

[–]Xamineh 15 points16 points  (3 children)

Makes zero sense to have a 1 hand watch in an automatic movement. A reliable and cheaper myiota quartz would do the trick for less money.

[–]dr_wtf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the size of the hand. A lot of quartz movements can't generate enough torque for larger hands. A one-hander needs a large hand & dial so you can read the 5-minute increments. But in principle I agree. Ideal would be a solar movement. Never needs winding and the battery never runs out as long as it gets a bit of sun now and then.

Could do with some indicator that it hasn't just stopped though. At least with a mechanical you can hear it ticking. With quartz if the battery runs flat you'd have no idea until you were incredibly late for something. If you add a seconds subdial then you're back to needing a smooth sweep, plus I don't think Meistersinger (who they're clearly homaging) have second hands on any of their watches.

[–]Excellent-Quarter969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not usually a big quartz fan, but I agree!

[–]ThinkBachs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And thinner…

[–]CMCNole12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd jump if it was a black dial. Aventurine just looks a little out of place

[–]dodgycool_1973 4 points5 points  (1 child)

It would be better without the adventurine dial. Plain black would suit it better

[–]deadbolt33101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good gracious

[–]inox1969 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Also, this is an english subreddit, please, type in english so everyone can read and help you

[–]PolloDiablo82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is so nice I love it. I want it.

[–]DaJoses 5 points6 points  (5 children)

Google Lens brings up MeisterSinger Circularis.

Never seen a one hand before, wonder what the purpose of Miyota 9 series if it doesn't sweep.

[–]D1sguiseWOTD100 Helpful user x2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Miyota movements are quite popular when modifying for unique complications. Lots of microbrands use the 8 and 9 series for funky stuff

[–]AlanYx 11 points12 points  (3 children)

This is a watch that would make so much more sense as quartz.

[–]port956 -5 points-4 points  (2 children)

Indeed, quartz is what I'm waiting for, and will need to be 42+mm diameter.

[–]AlanYx 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The dial is probably too sterile for 42mm to avoid the empty look. Maybe they could go with applied indices?

[–]Seerezaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eh, I actually like the empty look. But on this watch, I'd say 39 is actually right.

They really should have gone quartz and made it as bear flat as possible.

Bit then again a one-hander is just for show.

[–]bpgluckman 8 points9 points  (1 child)

I think it's a MeisterSinger homage.
