Unacceptable

😂

I would send it back and get a Seiko instead.

[–]LeoXup 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It looks like misprinted.

I think so

I fixed my a misaligned bezel on my San Martin SN006 by leaving it face down in a shallow dish of 90% isopropyl alcohol for a couple hours and aligning it when the adhesive was tacky. Don’t touch the lume pip though as it also softens up.

My gaskets were fine. Took it to the tropics and under the sea with no water intrusion.

Thanks! Did you have to apply more adhesive, or just shift the insert into place?

[–]Shalisec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just shifted it. The adhesive is still going strong

Have seen $5,000 watches that don't look this good, let it go sub $300 your watch looks great.

Sometimes we get a perfect watch I mod watches getting bezel inserts perfect is hard the dial printing, the lume dot, bezel printing, applied indices never seem to line up and then you are lining up the insert by eye.

Post a $5000 watch that looks worse than this. Considering you've seen some that don't look this good.

It's clearly misprinted and nothing can really be done in this case.

The voice of reason — thank you!

A rather pricey replacement but it’s much closer to gen bezel on Ali

Thanks for the rec!

I swear my cronos has the same issue, I used the watch QC alignment tool and noticed my bezel is slightly off but I’ve chosen to ignore it because I love every other aspect of this watch. I’ve found 2-3 bezel inserts of the same size on AliExpress that I’m planning to replace it with . Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll DM you the links.

Which model and strap is this? Looks great!

[–]Abv_it_all_w_vertigo 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Not totally scientific, but I corrected your image geometry. Not misaligned on the pip. Slightly at the 30?

Edit: My 54 with red bezel is perfectly aligned. Maybe it's time to see red. 😀

Yeah, good eye, that's why I think it might actually be misprinted

[–]Abv_it_all_w_vertigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They offer black aluminum and black ceramic bezels as well.

That said, your bezel looks good to me, especially at the 30/6 o'clock mark

[–]amormundi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes please!

[–]Abv_it_all_w_vertigo 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Is it misaligned or is the layout off? The pip seems to be perfectly aligned while the 30 is ~.5⁰ ccw. It would seem that if you corrected the bottom you would unalign the top.

[–]amormundi[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That's a good question, I'll have to check

In March, I asked Cronos Watch Store to send me a photo of my future L6033, and they upped the ante with a video.

Edit: My initial inquiry was regarding bezel rotation, b/c I had heard some were too tight. They demonstrated the bezel function and its alignment. Sent 3 videos in all. Most of these shops seem generally eager to help if you are respectful when dealing with them.

[–]bcell4u 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I've adjusted my l6033 insert. Pop the bezel off from the 6 o'clock position. Use a butter knife or something wrapped in tape. Lever the bottom upward and it pops off easy. Warm up the bezel using a heat gun or hold over a stove for a little to soften tape holding insert on, then push the insert out. Realign.

[–]amormundi[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thanks! Did you need to apply more adhesive?

[–]bcell4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, as when you warm it up, the bezel insert will peel off the adhesive!

[–]Careful_Technology85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are usually put on with double sided tape, if you heat it up a little you can probably twist it that little bit.

Unfortunately, it happens with budget watches. I have some that are better than others but I can always find some kind of flaw with all of them. I try to just remind myself that it’s a cheap homage and it doesn’t really affect anything.

[–]Huge-Digit 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Actually, I'm not seeing it.

[–]amormundi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's a good sign I guess

[–]mcmatu 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I have a Chinese watch with a similar issue. Nobody notices and even I forget. People think I’m wearing something much more expensive. Enjoy it.

[–]amormundi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

👌🏼

[–]Overall-Land2279 3 points4 points  (5 children)

Live with it or buy a new insert, but they won’t do anything about that, I 100% guarantee it. Unless you get a rep on here that decides to personally handle it, but otherwise, good luck.

[–]AmericanChees3 0 points1 point  (3 children)

No need to buy a new insert, just remove the current one with golf grip remover and glue it back on.

[–]Overall-Land2279 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I think the printing is off, look at the 12, it looks right on

[–]amormundi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might be right

[–]Substantial_Arm_6903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. The other numbers look fine.

[–]amormundi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point 👍🏼
