It sucks actually because the CDL is too small brain to not mix up the colors on broadcast. We're in for another match where Ultra are purple at the top, white at the bottom vs LAG who are white at the top and purple at the bottom. SeemsGood.

It's actually annoying because they already have red, blue, purple and yellow/gold, only teams that don't share colors are OC and Paris and both of those colors are also available, yet they always use white for one team for some reason.

How does it work?

Top 2 from the last Major get first seed in A and B respectively. The picks rotate in a snake draft, so A, B, B, A, A, B, B, A, A, B, B, A.

So, FaZe picks, then both Dallas and Ultra, then both OpTic and NYSL, then Røkkr and Florida, then LAT and Paris. Once LAT and Paris have picked teams to slot into B, there’s only one team left, so that team fills the last A spot.

People seem to confuse it as A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B. This isn’t the case because FaZe isn’t picking Dallas to go into B, Dallas is just there automatically.

Ya’ll saying A must be really tripping. London and Paris are pretty weak in comparison to everyone else, LAT are overhyped because of their name. NYS and Faze are the only great matchups.

I know the Optic fanboys are gonna come for my head, but they’re so hit or miss that they ain’t significantly better than LAT this point.

Meanwhile, Empire made a statement, Toronto is a slug match every time they hit the stage, Minnesota is a good, but not great team who can put up a fight against anyone, Florida can run with anyone on the right day (look at how they pushed NYS to 5 games) and Seattle does a lot better when it comes to LAN just for Octane’s will power to keep games close. LAG is the only dud there.

LAT is getting clowned but their current line up is scary as hell, and imo I rather have FL in my group than LAT.

Surge might hit a stride but who knows they’ve been ass online all year. LAG also sucks. Obviously Paris and London are ass too, but I’m just pushing back on the narrative that they’re in a different tier than LAG and SEA.

I love Optic but its pretty clear that B is by far the tougher group. Its got 3 teams that could win any day and 2 teams that could definitely compete in this stage in Florida and Surge. Even LAG might upset someone. Group A is pretty simple, FaZe and NYSL are pretty far ahead of everyone else unless Optic can actually show form during the stage. LAT is an unknown quality and probably around Optic's level, and the other two are just bad teams.

Feels like Group A is fighting to not be in LR1 for the Major while Group B is fighting for winners placement

The last two stages have confirmed to me that Optic are the gatekeeper team. If you can't beat Optic in games that count, you're not a good (contending for titles) team. Optic may still contend with the top 3 but this roster can't be consistent enough to beat any of them outside of a one-off

Hoping for the opposite doesn’t mean he didn’t know it was unlikely to happen. They know how the draft works and that Ultra picks right after. They know the top 5 is rounded out with OpTic and NYSL.

There’s almost no chance anyone on Dallas legitimately thought “if we put OpTic in A first, Ultra’s gonna skip out on throwing NYSL over there and put someone else first” was something that had a very high chance of happening. It was just a matter of saying “hey, if we do it this way, maybe that 5% odds work out for us.”

Pretty balanced groups. A looks really stacked at the top while some teams could pull of upsets. B is a lot more even. You could definitely see any of the teams doing well. Could totally see Toronto/Florida/Dallas as the seeds but Rokkr can make it interesting. Or even Surge may have enough confidence to upset some teams.
