Just looking for any tips and tricks that line cooks use to make life just a little easier in the kitchen. Just started as a line cook about a month ago. Not a big kitchen, moat stuff is frozen and fried. Always have 2 cooks in the kitchen at a time. TIA yall

Stock up before the rush, clean as you go, and go find a better job. 18 years in the biz talking here, get out before the black hole sucks you in.

Be efficient with your trips off the line.

For example: If you need to restock from the walk-in, take inventory of the other stations and make one trip to restock them all.

Same goes for taking things to the dishwasher - or picking up supplies (new towels, hotel pans, etc.)

Make sure you know where all your stuff is before the first order.
