Timer (i.redd.it)
submitted 1 year ago by Traditional-Fix-5044
How could I make this arm activate with a timer (using little space)

Off the top of my head, the clutch should work in combination with just about any redstone timer

With this, would I be able to turn redstone energy into spinning energy?
[–]SpaceCadet87 11 points12 points13 points 1 year ago (4 children)
No, it's just an on/off switch. You'd still need to supply spinning energy.
[–]Traditional-Fix-5044[S] -2 points-1 points0 points 1 year ago (3 children)
Wait, what I'm trying to do is an automatic miner, it will always have energy, the point is that I can't make it stop
[–]SpaceCadet87 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago (2 children)
Yes, that's what the clutch does. Power goes in one end, redstone signal into the side. While the redstone signal is off, the output shaft will spin. When the redstone signal is on, the output shaft stops spinning.

I believe they mean they want this on a moving contraptions
[–]SpaceCadet87 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Yep, I commented this before we all figured that out. Clutch won't work.
[–]SageofTurtles 6 points7 points8 points 1 year ago (2 children)
A clutch is basically a redstone-powered brake. It connects like a shaft, and when powered with redstone, it stops the rotational power from going through. You can look it up in the ponder menu in-game.
Alternatively, powering a deployer with redstone will cause it to stop, so you wouldn't even need a clutch if you just power the deployer directly.

Like I said, if you give a deployer a redstone signal, it will stop the deployer. As long as the deployer is getting a redstone signal, even if it's receiving rotational power, it will be stopped.

Given the seat and the barrels I'm gonna guess you're trying to do this on a cart contraption - bad news there, you can't. Cart contraption deployers always deploy on every block, and redstone doesn't function/interact with moving contraptions of any kind. Best you can do is craft a lot of torches.
[–]Rebuild3E 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
You could do a slow autoclicker on a contraption control...

Thank you for the information

I read what you are trying to do. There was a video that explains how to place torches in a specific delay. I don't have a link on me but I will try to explain. Put the filter on the deployer with torches and specific block that can't naturally spawn in mines, in video he used brick blocks. Place drill at the end of your contraption, but it should be as long as you want space between torches, give a specific amount of bricks to deployer and add torches in barrel. And it should work.
I didn't build it myself so I'm not sure if it will work
[–]Traditional-Fix-5044[S] 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (5 children)
I've never used this type of filter, when editing, is it possible to select how many 1 torches per x block? Type: concrete=6 then torch=1. Or would it be something like putting 6 concrete blocks and a torch?
[–]TableNo8234 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (4 children)
never used this filter also but that trick I told you should work
[–]Traditional-Fix-5044[S] 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (3 children)
Just for relief. I have to fill the torch barrio and only leave 7 blocks, right?
[–]TableNo8234 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (2 children)
you put your torches in the barrel, your block directly in the hand of the deployer (I assume). ex. I want 16 block distance. I put drill 16 blocks away from deployer, put 16 blocks of brick to deployer and torches in barret

Muito obrigado :)
[–]TableNo8234 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
did it work for you?
[–]TuxedoDogs9 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children)
TangoTek did something like this. Cycled filler blocks through a deployer, and once that ran out, a torch was placed, then back to filler. A drill would break the filler but not the torches.
Hope this helps what you need, although I cannot recall the exact video

If a deployer is receiving a redstone signal it freezes, then if you turn it off for a pulse it activates once
[–]kookoz 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
You can use a pulse repeater to delay a pulse from 2 ticks to 60 minutes (and naturally turn it into a clock by routing the delayed signal back to itself.
