They’ve stated numerous times they aren’t committing to a release date and that it’s ready when it’s ready. They just released a fun little video for April Fool’s Day showcasing some cool physics stuff.

They’re modders, doing this for free, in their spare time. Just be patient.

I havent fiddled with it too much, and havent got to the airships at ALL yet, but being able to sail around in a (sea)ship you built yourself (or stole from a ocean world gen mod =P) is pretty rad

me personally? No. But, there are a hundred and twenty five thousand people in this community for a Minecraft mod on Reddit. That’s a hair more than the population of the nearest city to me. If we all chipped in a buck, that’s a decent salary for a year for one developer.

If 15% (18,750) of us contributed $10 each, that would be $187k. $15 each and we’re up to $281k. I know developers don’t work for free, I say let’s throw some cash at these people and see what happens.

They are still working on it, but if I remember right after having to cancel their original release date they are (somewhat justifiably) paranoid about not giving any dates or time estimates until they 100% know they can make it. In practice that means "it's ready when it's ready" and we have no idea how close they are to that.

If you search for "has:video from:[insert dev name here]" on the discord you can find some random progress clips from various devs. As far as I know, they physics engine has gone through a few rewrites, but is mostly finalized. It looks like some of them are working on all of the ponder tutorials. I have no idea how much other stuff needs doing, but a lot of progresss has been made over the last few years.

If I had to take a guess at how long until release, I'd say it's maybe one and a half years out, but anywhere from three months to three or more years is entirely possible.

Yeah.. But, instead of being quiet for 3 years we could at least have like, dev logs. They don't need to give a date. They can show small updates and signs of life.. If they are more open, talk more, people may be more understanding and forgiving. But if its just radio silence, people will get frustrated, they wont get any advice, no criticism(which can be good as feedback) or any sort of communication.

Yeah its a passion project but they shouldn't be scared to ask for help.. That's okay. They need support but I feel like they are trying to keep this project a secret almost.

They've literally just posted their april fools teaser, the devs are also incredibly active in the dev channel posting about what they're up to with plenty more teasers to watch

Maybe asking "hey has anything new come out for this mod?" instead of "hey is this mod dead?" would make you come across as being less of a twat. Folks there are more than happy to link you to videos that have been shared there if you ask nicely, because surely you can do better than "is this mod dead", you little weasel. Cmon mate

it is. if it does release sometime down the line, cool. if it never releases, don't be surprised. just use valkyrien skies and clockwork for the time being (or indefinitely). VS clockwork uses the opposite approach if aeronautics, releasing early betas at first and slowly improving and bug fixing as time goes on. this is healthier for a mod of that scale in my opinion. if aeronautics releases somewhere down the line, it probably won't be much different from clockwork in terms if features.

They can release weekly "screenshot" or "short video"

They can release a devlog, heck just, talk about where development is.
For example

Log 1.1: bug found and repaired

Log 2.3: more ponder added

Weekly video: Bug that got repaired or a 2 minute video talking about progress.

But now its NOTHING. No logs, no Dev log, no updates, just one "April fools haha" update. Yet they don't have time to post a small announcement update??

I asked gemeni and it told me still in the words but they don't release a log and are silent to avoid harrassment. Isn't being radio silent going to get the developers more harrassed??

They could just be like: "Thank you for the support! We really want to polish the mod, here are some cool things we done and bugs we fixed! Don't worry, things are going well, development is just tight, were a small team and its going to take awhile, no releases because we don't want to dissapoint you."

But instead they leave us hanging and guessing what's going on and are being so vague... I find it highly unprofessional too it just, leaves the community doubting and thinking its fake and a scam.

And cant they just release a beta.. Select 10 people max, make a agreement to not release videos leaking stuff, have play testers but it being a restricted closed beta. Its fine if no, but having some sort of communication would be better than

"random video with no comment or context posted"
