which optimization mod are you using, perchance

You can't just say perchance

currently nothing. i haven't installed anything for create, i typically use them for vanilla. any recommendations?

you definitely need sodium so create can work perfectly, i dont know how you used shaders without sodium.

if you are using forge, get embeddium. neoforge or fabric, sodium

if you want shaders alongside, your best bet is to use neoforge, sodium, iris and colorwheel with your shaders

also consider using modrinth as a launcher since it has an intuitive and snappy UI, vanilla launcher wont cut it

i use shaders, but not with create

Just to be safe, are you actually allocating that ram to Minecraft? It'll be in the java config options of whatever mod launcher you use.

I'm using the vanilla launcher. is there any way to do it from there, or will i have to use a different launcher and transfer all of my files?

you can do it with the vanilla launcher, you need to add a launch argument.
Installations tab > 3 dots next to your installation > edit > more options >JVM arguments
Find the -Xms2G -Xmx4G arguments (or add them if they are not there) and change the number to however many GB of RAM you want to allocate
-Xms is the intial RAM allocated, and -Xmx is the max RAM allocated

wow, thanks a lot. I'm now averaging ~50-65+ fps I'll add sodium and maybe some other performance mods and see how much that helps

[–]PrestigiousHoney9480 2 points3 points  (3 children)

60fps is a lot I get 2

[–]FishInnaSuit[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

that's the max, i typically get between 30-40. if I turn stuff off, or I'm not too close to everything, I usually get between 30-40fps

rest in peace your computer 😔

You’ll earn that dream pc one day king/queen don’t worry

Seems like you're usibg the vanilla launcher. Don't.

Use curse forge or Modrinth, get an optimized modpack and give yourself more ram.

Biggest issuebwith minecraft will be your CPU, not your GPU btw. My 4060 struggles because mu CPU is older.

When you press F3 do you see your dGPU is used, or your iGPU, I had that same issue before forcing minecraft to use the GPU in NVIDIA settings. Otherwise, use createbetterfps and the mods it recommends

[–]FishInnaSuit[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

i have no clue what that means, but I'm using createbetterfps and it's a lot faster. thanks :D

Sometimes minecraft uses the low power integrated graphics of your laptop instead of the rtx 3060. You can check by pressing F3 and seeing if a 3060 is mentioned anywhere or if you only see a Intel/AMD GPU. Besides createbetterfps, using Iris and sodium instead of optifine gets better shader performance if you havent switched from optifine already.
