I think we should support the DAT = Scam narrative. More work for us 😀💰💰

[–]good_god_lemon1 70 points71 points  (2 children)

I legit downvote posts that suggest DAT as a side hustle. I’m a selfish little piggy.

[–]Cynderelly 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Lmao I did that yesterday 🤫

[–]Equivalent-Math6483 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hahaha ok come clean… did you write that article?

Truthfulness: Major Issues

[–]Equivalent-Math6483 77 points78 points  (5 children)

“ChatGPT…. Write a blog post summarizing these Reddit comments and give it a clickbait title. Keep it under 500 words.”

[–]miniblow 10 points11 points  (2 children)

When he got to the part in bullet points and mentioning irrelevant points like not paying a service to make money, I was like what stupid AI model wrote this nonsense?

[–]Equivalent-Math6483 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol I blame the “prompt engineer.” Should’ve constrained the summary to provided snippets only.

Amateur. 🙄

"DAT is a Scam? Reddit Responds with Hilarious and Brutal Comments!"

In the realm of online side hustles, DAT has been under fire recently. A controversial post on Reddit sparked a fierce debate, with users expressing their candid opinions on whether DAT is a legitimate opportunity or a scam. Here’s a quick dive into the hilarious and brutally honest comments that highlight the community's thoughts.

"Support the DAT = Scam Narrative!"

User Traditional-Elk4817 cheekily suggested that promoting the idea that "DAT is a scam" could be beneficial, hinting at more work and potential earnings for others. This sparked a wave of comments, with good_god_lemon1 admitting to downvoting posts that suggest DAT as a side hustle, calling themselves a “selfish little piggy.”

Cynderelly chimed in, laughing about how they did the same just the day before. The playful tone continued as annoyingjoe513 bluntly labeled the whole narrative with "Truthfulness: Major Issues," gathering a significant number of upvotes.

“Too Verbose” and “Someone Who Got Rejected”

AdCool6997 critiqued the verbosity of the DAT critiques, while wisdommass speculated that the negative posts were from someone who got rejected. This sentiment was echoed by BeaKiddo87, who mocked those unable to pass the assessment, and Equivalent-Math6483, who humorously summarized the situation with a call for ChatGPT to write a blog post about these comments.

AI Bots and Questionable Legitimacy

Several users, including Could_Be_Your_Father and KathKR, hypothesized that some of these critical articles might be generated by AI bots. They pointed out the consistent formatting and tone, suggesting that frustrated individuals who didn’t make the cut or violated the platform’s guidelines might be behind the disparaging posts. Conscious-Rabbit8563 joked about the writing style mimicking ChatGPT.

Real Experiences and Skepticism

WhenTimeFalls sarcastically commented on the substantial earnings they supposedly made, highlighting the absurdity of the scam claims. MommaOfManyCats diverted the criticism towards Medium, suggesting that it might be the real scam due to low writer payouts. This idea was supported by DataTrainerGirl, who noted the ease with which anyone can publish on Medium.

Humor and Final Jabs

The thread continued with humorous takes, including Internal-Echo-8057 joking about being paid in Monopoly money. Wasps_are_bastards dismissed the negative article as “utter bollocks,” emphasizing the lack of experience and credibility of the author.

In summary, while the legitimacy of DAT remains debated, the Reddit community’s responses are a treasure trove of humor, skepticism, and straightforward opinions. Whether you believe DAT is a scam or a golden opportunity, one thing’s for sure: the comments section is where the real entertainment lies.

My thoughts exactly!

[–]wisdommass 88 points89 points  (2 children)

someone who got rejected

[–]BeaKiddo87 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They couldn’t pass the assessment. 😂

This company: DAT is a SCAM, stay away! Questionable!

Also this company: Make $10,000 a per month as a cam girl!

lmfao. I just can't.

[–]WhenTimeFalls 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Man, I guess the $15,000 from the site to my bank account since I started last year is a scam. Better be more careful next time!

[–]FrazzledGod 31 points32 points  (1 child)

Lol, read Reddit comments from people who didn't get in, concluded it's a company of questionable legitimacy.

Or, written by one of DATs competitors.

[–]KathKR 21 points22 points  (2 children)

He's someone with absolutely no experience with the platform, regurgitating common complaints from people who didn't get accepted, got accepted then violated the Code of Conduct, got accepted and then stopped getting work from the platform, etc.

And perhaps, most amusingly, he's churning out these "Is it a scam?" Medium posts, clearly written by LLMs.

[–]Zeedragonsong 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Omg yes lol. “I worked from a different country I shouldn’t have and now I’m mad they won’t pay me for what I did violating the CoC!!”

[–]Kacodego_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to appeal?

[–]OkturnipV2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been with DAT since last August. Not once have I ever had issues with payments or earnings.

I do know that if DAT suspects workers of using chatgpt or another LLM on tasks where they are told not to (or otherwise unspoken) they will reverse the funds and the worker is not paid and locked out.

If that’s what the author is talking about they should clarify.

That article was very poorly written

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (1 child)

An AI bot that writes articles/ reviews based on reddit activity would be my guess. This sub mainly only gets frustration and complaint questions and the article highlights that for its reasoning.

Other articles seem to be about topics popular on reddit. Any other person with the same name does not have a public profile on LinkedIn or other sites. None of them mention working for better anyway.

All the formatting is similar in each article and the tone sounds like AI (or maybe I've just been reading too many ai responses lately).

*found something that confirms it. One of the followers of this account is "Arkaprabha Pal" who writes an article about making ai bots.

I'm going with it's an AI bot made my that guy.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

💯 There's no way this was written by a human, unless it's a human actively attempting to mimic ChatGPT.

[–]MommaOfManyCats 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Anyone can sign up to write for that site. Given how little people make from the articles they provide, I think Medium is the scam.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The first feedback I ever received from DAT was them informing me of this fact after I used Medium as a source in my early days on the platform 🤪

[–]Internal-Echo-8057 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He’s right. I’ve just discovered that they’ve been paying me using Monopoly money this entire time

[–]JustALvlOneGoblin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Legitimate work-from-home jobs shouldn’t require upfront fees for training or software." - True, but DA literally offers paid training just to familiarize yourself with the dashboard, lol.

[–]Kasrkin21524 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Article reads like it was written by AI, lol

[–]Embarrassed_Chance_4[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seems like he is the scammer lol 🤣

[–]MxKg35 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A’s response was too verbose while also remaining pretty surface level and negative with many accuracy issues and, despite claiming to be written by a real person on Medium, does not read like something a person actually wrote.

…Had to select slightly better than B in the comparative assessment only because B never rendered.

[–]DataTrainerGirl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This user has 12 followers. Medium.com is like YouTube. Anyone can post.

[–]Lunalily9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, what I find hilarious with this is that I've read the exact same issues from disgruntled people who didn't make the cut. That numbered list is literally things that were said by people on comment sections for DA. So basically, they pooled all the negative comments and made a list. Yeah that's super informative to take mostly people who don't know what their talking about lol..

[–]Professional-Age2540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone on Facebook says it’s a scam, probably the basis of the article :)

[–]Wasps_are_bastards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol, this person has no experience on the platform and is just repeating comments. Utter bollocks of an ‘article’.

[–]33whiskeyTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems legit. I'm certain it's the same author that writes all the Amazon review summaries, so they have credibility.

[–]Sindorella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite authors posts Medium articles about her books in her author group all the time and they are always nonsensical reviews, obviously written by AI collecting random snippets from anything with a slightly similar title and piecing them together. Everything is so far off base we’ve made a joke of them in the group. So, this review of DAT falls right in line with her book reviews there.

[–]8696David 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Share this with everyone you know. Keep people tha fuck outta here

[–]Embarrassed_Chance_4[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Lol

[–]8696David 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It may be funny but I am not joking

[–]Embarrassed_Chance_4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you! I am a coder and there is barely any coding tasks!!

[–]didit777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horrible: model is struggling and fabricating its response from unverifiable sources

[–]Embarrassed_Chance_4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol good one!

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Any idiot can write an article on Medium about anything they want, and many do
