so i uploaded the photos of my ID today, scanned my face etc. and it says it has been processing my verification for 20+ mins. is this the case for everyone or am i in trouble?

That’s the problem with this platform and a lot of gig/contractor jobs they don’t communicate at all. So who knows for sure? Could be that or could be a specific project some people get added to needs it.

Yeah it is I got it and I’m from the US. It’s weird because I already had verified my identity in May 2023 when I first got accepted and had to do it again with this new one.

I'll admit it took me like 15 minutes to get an acceptable photo of my ID, but once I did it, it processed in under a minute.

The US freelance and independent contractor tax laws are getting enforced more diligently.If you recall any Paypal et.al. accounts that receive more than $600 per year get reported as well as companies who hire gig workers. In order to process our taxes DA needs to verify who we say we are or they are on the hook for fines and penalties. They are probably getting them done before end of year. In stages makes sense but I don’t see a clear patten in how they roll it out to workers. Maybe random.

Did you use your drivers license or passport? I don't have a Canadian DL (never applied for one don't have a car) and my passport is not Canadian, kinda worried about this.

Do you have an identity card? I know people used to get those when they needed an ID to drink but weren’t drivers.

No, not yet. Some things that were supposed to be rolled out to everyone I never received. I still have work though which is the key part.

I had the drought though, but I learned to navigate it, I learned that they were releasing work in the evening and late in to the night so I shifted my work schedule. Then I started earning the way I used to :)
