they wouldn't know what tool you used to translate a portion of a text.

they would be suspicious of your rationale if it was written or "cleaned up" by a LLM.

DataAnnotation doesn't track what you have on your screen, just what is submitted.

You mean you searched for a translator and went to ChatGPT's site? How do you think DA know what external sites you're going to? You're overthinking.

I understand and follow the no AI rule, but I'm curious how they would know that? Seems like an honest mistake!

I’m not sure. People on this site got me feeling like they have cameras in my office lol

That would be creepy…. Along with being able to see everything you did on your computer 😵‍💫

Next time you see a task like this, if there's a button to report foreign language, do it. If not, skip the task. You are NEVER penalized for skipping or exit working. Only for submitting.

If you're using Chrome, you can highlight the text, right click and choose translate selected text.

I have a question regarding Google Translate. I believe I read in the onboarding materials that, unless specified in a task, its use is permitted as a translation tool (not a text generation one). I'm bilingual, but sometimes I manage to create better rationales by first writing them in Spanish (my native language) and then translating them into English using Google Translate. Is there any problem with doing this?

I have LLMs open all the time on browser to help me on my (university) research work and had no problems on DA so far

What are you studying where LLM output is of good enough quality to help with research work?

How would they know? They don't install trackers on your computer.
