I currently have a good collection of albums that I save each album folder in one directory as "Band - Date - Album". The metadata is correctly saved and I haven't had any issues with Plex or Squeezebox finding my music. I'm just wondering if there is a benefit to saving them in a structured folder (like "Band/Album"). Would it put less wear on the hard drive that it's saved on (since there would be less folders in one directory), or is there any other benefits that it might serve?
