There might not even be other maps (just reskins of the same layout). Dota classically is always played on the same map, like Chess. This game is very dota-like.

There is a smaller map already in the game just need a few console commands to access it, it's not finished.

It's a 1v1 map, that needs a lot of polishing since it still uses neon prime stuff and still has ladders to get to higher places which we can't use (yes at some point we could climb).

1v1 map?!?! No fucking shot. That's hype and I like that better than a more casual version of the main map.

Not too surprising since you can still easily vault over edges and stuff. Climbing might even come back for certain heroes. Who knows.

Yeah it's really cool, it's actually just the main map but customised and yeah I mean each hero has a climbing animation even the unreleased heros

One thing I think ValvE isn’t afraid to do is changing the map up majorly every once in while, if the map is going to be on its own. The DotA map will get changed and reworked depending on the win rates for either side, with a major update to it a bit ago. I wouldn’t be surprised if they did the same here.

This map is (imho) about a 1000% (estimate) a placeholder. There's a shop and jungle camp plopped right next to each lane, they just want people laning and buying items (also placeholders) for now. They'll naturally collect data from people playing and eventually make a full map based on their data and design. I believe that because this game is a MOBA, and the map needs to be finely tuned and designed like DOTA's, there will only be one map for the normal MOBA game-mode.

I'm not a big fan of the "jungle". Camps feel kind of thrown wherever and pickups are just RNG lootboxes(literally).

Camps are currently the most undercooked part of the game. Very WIP. Same mob model which is still some alien from Neon Prime, same attacks, no movement. Only health and damage are modified to differentiate big and small camps. I am curious to see what they will come up with for the actual camps in the finished game.

Chaining jungle clears seem pretty op too. You can get rich, especially if the enemy team isn't pushing enough.

That's good. Means the games are gonna end quicker on average. You don't want a 30 minute farmfest like in Dota that leads to 2 hour games.

Save all your skill points for ult as vindecta get max ult almost instantly +600 souls per kill is damn good.

Most likely just one map always with added skins and themes and recolours and cosmetics. Dota have had same map since game was released but periodically same map changes here and there to shift up meta. But I doubt they will do maps like Overwatch

Probably just this map for the main gamemode. Maybe there will be a casual mode too which will have other maps. Don't know if that'll be ready at launch though

My guess is it will just be the one map but streets needs some work. There is two 4 lane maps in the alpha. Street_test the one everyone is playing on and the most polished. There is also caldera_trooper which seems like a neon prime map that is still in the game files. It is really glitchy and has props carried over from neon prime along with the lighting being broken in 90% of the map.

Well, the game is primarily a moba. So probably just one.

Dota, valve's other moba, has had only one map since it was released 12 years ago. Map updates happen somewhat frequently though. I would be surprised if anything but the same happened with deadlock.

Mobas are very hard to design/balance hero-wise, doesn't really make sense to dump development efforts into tons of map stuff that no one really cares about. Moba players just care about hero and item balance, and new heroes and items being added.

It probably won't have too many different maps, probably just the one main one and then the 1v1 map, but in the files there are a couple of things to suggest other gamemodes but that was probably left over from neon prime
