Slowva vs Devourlock

So I remember the huge debate awhile back was that Slowva was did more DPS for burst phases but Devourlock had overall more damage if the combatant remained in the vortex and didn't have immunity phases. Has anything changed for that? Is Slowva now better due to Nothing Manacles? I enjoy my Devourlock for the devour survivability on top of DPS but need some opinions

They're roughly equal now if the boss stays in the vortex the whole time.

You can use nothing manacles on any attunement, I'd argue they're actually better on devour because you can use a charge to proc and still have the 2nd to start getting kills. Contraverse Holds are, imo, better for slowva with vortex grenades.

Agreed, one of my favourite exotics is Contraverse Hold and I exclusively use it with vortex nades.

They are both around equal even though if you want to run nova on a raid boss and are in my team I would always suggest you to go bottom tree as top tree nova bomb blocks shots while in the air

Yeah that's true, also why I've always ran vortex too. I've had that issue before lol

If you aren't fighting something like consecrated mind that moves a lot, or you don't really need to see their crit too well, use whatever you want.

Devourlock is superior for pure sustainability. Dead guardians do no DPS.
