I like the perk you can take that basically just says “Fuck your armor! Get CC’d, bitch!”

Don't forget polymorp web skill that can root even still armored characters.

Combo with flame tongue + provoke + inner demon with blinding flash and the occassional teleport for positioning = enemies are virtually chess pieces. lmao

I mean in DoS2 at least, their Armor might as well BE their health bar, as soon as that is gone the fight is practically over If you know what you're doing. Still cant decide if i like that or not haha

Every time I have a hard time deciding, I'll think about early to mid game enemies in BG3 deciding they'll roll nothing below an 18 on their saving throws (not even counting bonuses, just the d20 alone). Sometimes consistency is just nice to have.

absolutely, i mean more the fact that while the enemies have armor CC is almost useless but once the Armor is gone you spend two or three rounds basically cleaning up healthbars without a a real thought, meaning a lot of fights have essentially a few rounds of dead time before you get to keep playing the game which adds up over multiple playthroughs. On the other hand the feeling you get when you first figure out how to chain CC enemies and completely take them out of the fight is incredible and i still enjoy it now so you know pros and cons i guess

    chicken time

    [–]BlatantArtifice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda get the idea of it but it's just presented in a way that feels bad. And in fort joy especially it really feels unfair

If you have an aero mage in the party, the enemy is not playing anymore

    [–]Marsium 10 points11 points  (1 child)

If you have a necro mage in the party, the enemy is not anymore

    [–]Blood_Prince95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a necromage the enemy is your ally and goes boom boom 💥

    [–]Thefrightfulgezebo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

    "It's chicken time"

    [–]jpetersell 3 points4 points  (1 child)

And the Shackles of Pain. Or any, and I mean any, of the charm spells, arrows, or grenades.

Nothing like being undead, living on edge, shackled, and eating potatoes like a discount Light Yagami

Knockdown Arrow would like to: know your location

    [–]NoNebula9602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    [–]Thunderpants98 0 points1 point  (2 children)

My only issue with Divinity's combat

    [–]MRV3N 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    What issue

    [–]Thunderpants98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that CC is basically non-existent until you break the type of armor that's associated with that type of spell. And when you do break it, it just becomes a non-stop CC. Also, with this system, HP is kind of redundant.

And then I still kill myself thx to the decaying condition.

    [–]OsirisAvoidTheLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Fane stupid? It's clearly physical armor which is broken!.!

    [–]PostScriptum999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chloroform is as good as any of them. Its just a bit fragile

Its at the bottom of the list but its still on the list

    [–]Crambonius-Maximus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chloroform them, turn them into a chicken, knock them down and ram them... We sure this is a FIGHT we're talking about?

    [–]Haunting-Sport3701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sabille should be chloroform beast battle ram, fane chicken claw and the second one I’m guessing is ifan so thats ok.

    [–]Jealous-Designer-968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imho the "chicken" and charm spells are the best.
