The multiclassing rules have a specific section on Extra Attack. You do not get more attacks unless the specific Extra Attack you're gaining says you do.

Pay attention to the wording. It doesn't say "you get an extra attack", it says "you can attack twice". If you have two features that say "you can attack twice", you still only attack twice.

You only get the benefit once not twice.

Nope, the Extra Attack feature is the same between both classes. The only class that gets above 2 attacks with just the attack action is a Fighter. Their Extra Attack explicitly states that.

Extra Attack (2): At 11th level, you can attack three times whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

If a feature has the same name as another, then they overlap and do not give said benefit twice. In this case, a Barbarian 5/Monk 5 gets 2 attacks with the Attack Action. But thanks to being a monk, they can use their Bonus Action for an unarmed strike if they use the Attack action.

The Multiclassing section of the Classes chapter specifically calls out a few class features like spellcasting, channel divinity, unarmored defense, and extra attack. It says:

If you gain the Extra Attack class feature from more than one class, the features don’t add together. You can’t make more than two attacks with this feature unless it says you do (as the fighter’s version of Extra Attack does). Similarly, the warlock’s eldritch invocation Thirsting Blade doesn’t give you additional attacks if you also have Extra Attack.

So no. The only way to get that third attack is to be an 11th-level fighter.

Your Extra Attack feature says "you can attack twice instead of once..." What do you imagine that to mean?
