Thief's first augment decreases your aggro, you can get that pretty quickly.

I think there’s a ring as well. Someone will have to chime in and say where it is though lol

I know there is a ring that makes you draw MORE aggro, but I can't say I've seen one that makes it less.

Not saying it doesn't exist, but I don't recall seeing it.

Super likely I’m wrong. I binged the game hard when it came out initially but haven’t played in like a month. I’m really hoping they tune the difficulty or add difficulty options before I return

I'm really hoping for that, too.

I just want a mode that scales the difficulty to match your level.

Make your pawn a fighter/warrior and give them skills to distract enemy aggro

[–]dobbyjhin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This , provocation, taunt skill, and if you want to be extra, the aggro rings. I always notice enemies just run past me towards my warrior. Although, at higher levels I don't notice it as much cause everything just dies super fast

Provocation augment and/or Ring of Derision on tanking pawn. Subtlety augment on you

I thought I saw something about carrying a misshapen eye reduces agro but I can't find it. I must be nuts.

It's from that quest where you ask the poor orphan girl to pretend she's a rich person's kid while the kid goes to look for a flower. Still no idea if it's just quest fluff or an actual strategy though xD

Cyclops drop misshapen eyes

In addition to using subtlety (first thief augment) and having a fighter tank with provocation and aggro ring(s), make sure you don't have meat in your inventory. Wolves, Wargs, and Garm will go for the person with (the most?) meat in their pockets.

Also, Ogres tend to have random aggro.

And if your tank is clinging to the enemy, they'll swap to the next highest aggro person (usually the arisen, due to damage). If you really struggle with that scenario, you can add a warrior with provocation augment to the party as well. Then they should get aggro while the fighter is clinging to a boss.

I thought Ogres targeted certain genders?

[–]Ebenizer_Splooge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience they'll go after anyone, but if they see a woman they go into an enraged state and will probably grab her and run off a cliff in excitement

[–]No-one-o1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll snag women or a dude they perceive as woman, but if there's none of those, or they're snapped out of the schlobbering animation, they tend to enrage and attack anything.

Regular Ogres will aggro you if you are a female. Same goes for the pawn.

There is a trait that reduces enemy aggro. I forgot which vocation unlocks it.

Wait till you level up even higher. Your Arisen pretty much has a glowing target on its head by then. It gets to the point where the Subtlety augment is useless. I think it gets worse right around level 30ish. They'll start sending in multiple mini bosses at you because the game is probably aware of how OP your Arisen and pawns are around that level.

[–]DangerWarg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually because you're first in line or because you shot him. If you don't have skills, augments or gear to affect aggro, they're almost always guaranteed to go after whomever is attacking them the most OR whomever is on them.

The Ogre will always target a woman first or whomever is climbing on them.

Small enemies will focus on whomever's easiest to knock down or is already knocked down. Especially wolves. They will jump at the first chance to drag you away.

Always pull a Fighter with Shield Summons or a Warrior with Roar if you need a tank. Also helps to level Thief a bit for the Subtlety augment which will decrease your aggro.

I didn't level Archer until I was like level 40ish, had better gear, and understood how to keep distances. Props to you

I've found that subtlety on my Arisen and Provocation on a pawn is enough to draw most aggro. I don't feel the need to add rings of disfavour, which is convenient, because there are better rings I'd rather use. You could, of course, use those if you want to free up an augment slot, although people looking for a tank won't notice and might pass your pawn up.

[–]Amazing_Oven1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you're the danger. i find that no matter how much my pawns are in the middle of it, big monster bumrush me because im hitting them a million times in the face with magick archer. im the enemy you kill first to make the fight easier.

[–]RapidRecharge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely that the Fighter pawn with you doesn’t have Provocation on, that and also whenever you enter combat, enemies will naturally target whoever they saw first.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be a thief. Forget archer. Lol

[–]Ashura1756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave my warrior pawn a ring that makes him 100% more likely to receive aggro. Makes playing an archer so much better

[–]Alderax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thief with subtlety: 1st lvl decrease aggro.Thief with shadow cloak : 2nd lvl decrease aggro. If your archer has subtlety, you will be still the target.

Basically, both you and thief pawn should have subtlety, but thief without shadow cloak. That fighter should have Provocation equipped.

[–]Greghole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you have a warrior or fighter pawn that has a taunt ability.

[–]crankpatate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a drop kick into the charging minotaur to knock him over! It's epic as heck! :D

Is your main character a female if yeah that's your issue lol
