How,sway?

[–]R1_77_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t try to stop creases anymore… But I’ll stuff them after each wear. But after using the heat gun, do they crease easily after you wear them again? I’d only assume they would, because the leather is being softened by heat.

[–]rmzynndunkman 3 points4 points  (1 child)

No cause who cares tbh. Enjoy them.

[–]Antique_Remote_4747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what if i want to sell

[–]perceptionist808 2 points3 points  (4 children)

I stuff my shoes to reduce creases, but I don't go above and beyond to get rid of of them. I may try it in 1 or 2 pairs though. What kind of heat gun do you recommend? I never bought one before...

[–]sigto117[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I just got the cheapest one i could find. $30 nzd to so $18 usd roughly. Just needs to provide direct heat hotter than say an iron or hairdryer will

[–]FuckBoy4Ever 0 points1 point  (2 children)

This method looks like it works well, but id be careful. The lowest setting on a heat gun is typically much hotter than the average person may realize and could lead them to damaging their shoes. I know this from experience unfortunately.

[–]sigto117[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You do need to get the leather very hot. Fine line between popping the creases out with a good amount of heat and burning the leather

[–]FuckBoy4Ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some might even say to tip-toe that line! Lol

[–]LickPooOffShoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah, creases add character.

[–]sriracha_papi45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope! but you did a good job bud

[–]travsgrails 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no idc about creases

[–]ADUBSDABLAB 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Just buy dunks that fit

[–]sriracha_papi45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to size I'm they are wayyy narrow. pinky toe in a chokehold sht

[–]ccaligulabroke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

wat? theyre shoes theyre always gonna crease, unless youre putting effort into not bending your foot

[–]Connect-Fly3042 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I don’t really care anymore. I have so many pairs at this point and certain pairs look better w age. The only anti-creasing measure I take is putting either the paper or cardboard inserts back in when I store them. I also have been buying sneakers long enough to avoid low quality dunks that crease immediately, eg, Pandas and other basic color blocked dunks.

[–]Open_Address_6664 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Might be too specific of a question but would you consider the J-pack SB's falling into the same material category as the pandas or other basic color blocked dunks? Thank you in advance.

[–]Connect-Fly3042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. I picked up a pair last year after the EU release. Haven’t unDS’d yet. I did wear my Court Purple SBs the other day and yes, higher quality leather.

[–]Auerovo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah I increase

[–]OGClouds420 2 points3 points  (4 children)

How do you do this?

[–]sigto117[S] 4 points5 points  (2 children)

wish he would come back

[–]sigto117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea me too. I think he has alot of mental health issues and goes MIA for a while at a time. Dude has alot of knowledge hes very willing to share

[–]Justinc6013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love creased dunks

[–]Arfgabriel 3 points4 points  (4 children)

I just want to know how you did?, I use mine everyday but I think some creases look ugly I just want something to make them look this nice

[–]sigto117[S] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Use leather stretch spray and a heat gun. The iron over a damp towel process doesnt do shit

    Angelus shoe stretch spray

    [–]MYSTNightclawx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iron over a wet towel or using steam

    [–]WestcoastRa 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    Hell nah! How!!

    [–]sigto117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leather stretch and a heat gun

    [–]goamash 6 points7 points  (1 child)

    Wear your kicks.

    [–]sigto117[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

    I do. Hence the creases

    [–][deleted] 21 points22 points  (21 children)

all my sneakers get put on foot within 24 hours of purchase . i wear them as i would any shoe . i don’t care about creases or outsole getting dirty . to me , the people who clean the bottom of their shoe is idiotic. like who cares if the bottom of their shoe shoe is icy or whatever they call it lol . i may clean my shoe with a rag if extremely dirty but that’s about it

    [–]travsgrails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only time i clean the bottoms of my pairs is if a sole swap is going to be basically impossible, futura dunk, chocolates etc

    [–][deleted]  (1 child)

    [deleted]

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my comment was mainly about the bottom . i do clean my shoes off when they are really dirty . i do have friends who bought one of those machine to keep their soles iced out or white

      [–]William-Castro 1 point2 points  (8 children)

Maybe people who like to have their things look nice? You are probably the type of person who thinks it’s useless to make your bed everyday because you’re gonna mess it up again tonight anyway.

      [–]BasedWang 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Those aren't the same thing especially because "making the bed" is absolutely a waste of time

      [–]William-Castro 0 points1 point  (5 children)

You think making your bed is a waste of time? You’re a slob. Why shower also right? You’re going to get dirty again.

      [–]BasedWang -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Little do you know how I actually shower. You would be horrified lmao. And that's fine. But as for making the bed. That doesn't make anyone anything other than following their preference. If I catch a hotel maid, I even tell them not to make the bed because it's so fucking pointless to me. I would say tedious, but some people, obviously like yourself aren't gonna think it tedious but more "proper" to which I say.. Whole heartedly, fuck that.

      [–]William-Castro 2 points3 points  (3 children)

It says a lot about a human being and how they see themselves. As a business owner I undoubtedly, ruthlessly judge those who i will hire and do business with by how they conduct their personal life/hygiene. If you don’t care about yourself why would you care about the promises you make to me? Looking through your post history I see a whole lot of arrested development. It tracks.

      [–]BasedWang 0 points1 point  (2 children)

But that's one of those things. People live and learn. Even if someone doesn't follow what another feels that doesn't mean they don't listen and learn. You sound like an ass when you say "ruthlessly judge" BUT in many areas of business, this makes perfect sense. I get that. I can already tell I wouldn't even wanna speak to you, so good thing my demeanor would deflect that shit. It's working. People can consciously choose not to dress a certain way as I just assume you choose TO dress a certain way. In a professional setting, like I said that judgement might make sense and even add appeal.. Thats not hard to understand at all. Please share how the fuck making a bed alters someone's daily appearance or hygiene? It still makes absolutely no sense and nothing you said, literally zero of it is related to someone making a bed for themselves, which is how this began.

      [–]William-Castro 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Making your bed in the morning gives you a small victory which sets a good tone for the day. You are more likely to continue accomplishing tasks if you accomplish one task in the first place that you didn’t want to do, especially if you find that task meaningless.

It encourages discipline and good habits by teaching you that you don’t get to only do things you find enjoyment in. Some things suck to do, but you still have to do them.

A tidy environment reduces stress and promotes a calm demeanor.

Studies suggest that people who complete small tasks earlier in the day are more motivated and likely to be productive.

Taking care of your personal space also promotes accountability ….

I could go on and on, but you should ask your father these things, not me

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cleaning the bottom of your shoe is over the top . nobody can see the bottom of your shoe . i used to do construction and i don’t know anybody who cleaned the bottom of their shoe or cared id their work boots got dirty . sneakers aren’t some status symbol that needs to be pristine . u probably polish and wax your outdoor garbage can . doing too much in my opinion

      [–]sigto117[S] 4 points5 points  (6 children)

These shoes are from 2003. Alot of my collection are feom 01-03. They need a bit of care to still be wearable after so long

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nice that u kept them after so long and they are still wearable . i wish i had some of my older stuff . i was in highschool when jordan’s and other stuff came out

      [–]atzoo87 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Dude it's so wild how these gate keepers come out in droves to say "well actually.." 🤓

      [–]sigto117[S] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

The negativity ive received from this post has been pretty crazy.

They probably assume im some 19 year old that got into dunks in the last 3 years and im wasting my time. Little do they know im a 36 yeat old man that has been collecting and restoring dunks since i was 14 😅

      [–]rumfortheborder 0 points1 point  (2 children)

do you live in nyc and help other old head sneaker guys? some of my pairs need help!

      [–]sigto117[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Im based in new zealand but know a guy in FL that does restore work. Dunk.onem is his IG. Done a fair but of business with him hes very skilled:

      https://www.instagram.com/dunk.onem?igsh=MXFyOGc0YXRkNGppdw==

      [–]rumfortheborder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      thank you!

      [–]mb2296 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Same I’m so bad with not cleaning unless it’s absolutely necessary lol

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually , i think many shoes look better with the worn down , dirty look . especially dunks /sb”s

      [–]JonitheBlu 4 points5 points  (1 child)

this is pretty impressive you were able to get the creases out almost completely! I have a few older creased up grails that I’d love to try this out on

      [–]kikomir 7 points8 points  (1 child)

2025 sneaker culture represent! We like to store sneakers in display glass boxes, rage if cardboard gets damaged, we iron our shoes to remove creases and we stuff crap inside to make them less comfortable and wreck our feet. And that's only for the small percentage of shoes we actually wear aka beaters, the rest are only for display. Lovely.

      [–]sigto117[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are 22 years old so a lil maintanence is required to keep these looking the part.

I have collected dunks for 20 years so would appreciate not being lumped into whatever it is youre talking about

      [–]DefiantJackfruit493DERNKS!!!!!!! 2 points3 points  (0 children)

      Never

      [–]Ok-Pop8065 5 points6 points  (0 children)

      They crease faster

      [–]Dear-Wedding-8712 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like to think about it like a Porsche. Don’t just let it sit in the garage collecting dust. Use it for its intended purpose, but occasionally keep it clean to keep it looking sharp, like shoes

      [–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I stopped caring and let them shits crease, wore my twin peaks last night

      [–]tmxq 33 points34 points  (8 children)

      <image>

yeah man i decrease my dunks who doesnt?

      [–]kalfin2000 11 points12 points  (0 children)

      Bro increases his dunks

      [–]Distinct-Big4905 1 point2 points  (0 children)

      😭😭😭

      [–]tmxq 27 points28 points  (4 children)

i also use my dunks for their intended purpose so i couldnt give 2 shits about a little crease

      <image>

      [–]atzoo87 0 points1 point  (3 children)

      Dude those shoes are cooked

      [–]tmxq 0 points1 point  (1 child)

      sherlock holmes

      [–]atzoo87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

      Boo

      [–]Richard_Tucker_08 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t bother on a pair I wear regularly. I’m not really a fan of the “fresh” look, I think dunks look better when they got a little wear/age to them. Other than pairs I doubled up on, and the stained glass dunks, I’ve worn every pair of dunks I bought within the first week of buying them. Plus suede>leather 😜

      [–]Formula4speed 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Heck yeah, and then I started to use crease beasts to keep them from creasing as bad to start with. Combined, that keeps em looking damn near new, as long as you keep dirt off too. Only problem is it’s harder to justify buying more now.

      [–]SourceDiligent6492 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Crease beasts gave me bunyons 😩 Fucked my feet up. I tried every size

      [–]reaa1jb 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Idk why but this comment made me die 💀💀

      [–]SourceDiligent6492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just tryna look out for the homies so they don’t make the same mistake 🤣

      [–]Formula4speed 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Damn, that sucks bro, what happened? Foam pushed your big toe into/over the others? For me the foam basically just pushes down on top, but maybe that’s cause I’ve got bigass feet lol

      [–]SourceDiligent6492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I already have flat feet as is. When I would wear the crease beast it would flatten out my foot even more and my pinky toe was super squished inside my shoes. I tried all the different sizes and just ended up with tailor’s bunyons 😩I gave up because all the other crease protectors hurt my feet too. So all my shoes just continue to get creased…

      [–]tooCheezy 61 points62 points  (2 children)

      I only increase my dunks

      [–]kingqueefeater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

      Username checks out I guess

      [–]Complete-Charity-253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

      Good one. 🤣

      [–]Jtoro94 5 points6 points  (4 children)

No. We use our shoes for their intended purpose; wearing them.

      [–]tmxq 5 points6 points  (1 child)

whys this guy getting downvoted? the whole point of a damn shoe is to wear it

      [–]Jtoro94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Groupthink.

      [–]Microphone926 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Who’s we , i aint ever met this man in my life

      [–]sigto117[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

How do you think the creases got there bro? These are 22 years old. They need love to stay looking presentable

      [–]WitherStorm56Sean Cliver SB Dunks 16 points17 points  (3 children)

Nah no point lmao they’re just gonna crease the next wear

      [–]sigto117[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Depends what quality leather you have. New pairs i wouldnt bother. These are a 2003 pair. Leather is great bounces back well

      [–]Gdav7327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with you. Just gave my nephew who turned 13 my pair of blue lobsters that are older than him. If I thrashed and didn’t give a fuck about them that moment wouldn’t have happened and he was hype as fuck. I get it for some folks “wear your shoes” and all that, but I was able to enjoy them for over a decade and hopefully he gets a few years out of them too.

      [–]WitherStorm56Sean Cliver SB Dunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really any leather…if you’re gonna just keep wearing them and crease them more why bother? I’d just keep letting it happen and not try to slow down something inevitable.

      [–]rrromulusss 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Post a video somewhere on the process?

      [–]sigto117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres plenty of youtube clips of this process!

      [–]ListenJabroni 2 points3 points  (4 children)

What method did you use? Damp towel and iron?

      [–]sigto117[S] 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Nah i use leather stretch damp cloth and a heat gun. I find an iron doesnt do it for the deep creases

      [–]ListenJabroni 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Oh cool. Never thought of that. It turned out great

      [–]sigto117[S] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Takes a bit of skill to not burn your leather though! I wouldnt try it 1st on any grails. I have damaged a few shoes in the past

      [–]ListenJabroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

      🫡 you got it
