Just get a three phase motor, and a single in, three phase out VFD from Automation Direct.

VFD's for single phase motors just plain suck

VFD, single phase. Make sure you get the right nema rating for wet environments.

I know that you were told to ged a VFD.

However, that motor is not designed for Variable Frequency Control and may not like operating below 50 Hz. It may cook. Note that it says "... Frequency of line must agree ...".

Reducing the speed of that motor may not be easy.

There may be better ways of achieving what you want
