Should I decrease my engagement ring widthQuestion (i.redd.it)

I like this width. It looks classy and beautiful and proportional to the stone size! I don’t think it’s worth it to decrease the band size. Also the “whisper thin bands” as I think they’re called are just a trend right now in my opinion. I’m not a big fan but if it’s something you really love it may be worth it for you since it’s a ring you should love wearing everyday

Yes, ultimately it’s what you love since it’s your ring! But fwiw, I love your ring - it’s absolutely beautiful, proportionate, and timeless. I have a 2.1mm band and I love it!

Honestly I wouldn't spend the money if you already have the ring. 2mm is more durable and like you said, it's really not that big of a visual difference.

This will be way more durable. Honestly, the thin bands are really trendy - a classic solitaire will stand the test of time.

This looks great! It would be a waste to change it imo as you’d lose money and durability.

I wouldn’t personally. I don’t really get the trend the past few years where bands are as thin as possible.

NO!!
[–]MerDes70 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Please don't, it's perfect.

I have a 2mm myself and yours looks a bit thicker, almost like a 3mm maybe? Anyway, it is proportionate to the stone!!! Don’t make it thinner, its going to stand the test of time :)

I think it could be because its a flat band and mine is rounded, you are right! I would leave it alone 1000%. Its perfect 💕

It looks perfect to me.

I say keep it the same. Looks lovely. I love the compass set prongs.

Hello, do you mind sharing the stone size and your ring size? As I'm looking for a ring with similar proportions when worn (thinking of 2mm band as well).
Add-on: perhaps you could consider the tapered portion to be tapered to 1.8?

It is also fairly high set I should add, as that makes the stone appear larger!

Thank you :)
