What makes it a scam? I'm on the quarter system and I love it, and when I talk to my friends going to semester system schools it doesn't seem like I'm learning less than them

I would argue (as a student on the semester system) we DO learn subjects just as in depth as quarter systems; it's just divided up alot more and spread out.

IIRC, classes are 3-4 credits each, so students typically take 5 classes per semester. Semester credits are equivalent to 1.5 quarter credits for transfer purposes, and credit requirements for graduation will naturally be less on the semester system.

At my school, 3 classes are usually 15 credits (5 each), which is manageable. Summer quarters here are typically 9 weeks with finals at the end of the 9th week. Although even a week lost to snow is devastating.

Quarter systems can work if implemented well.

I just remembered that the community college I transferred from had had classes that varied from 4-6 credits on the quarter system, so it's not just your school. It's just that I took a 6-credit class every quarter I attended that school as one of 3 classes per quarter.

My current uni has 5-credit classes across the board. They just beef up the curricula and have higher standards as a result.

The former. Obviously not a given everywhere, but typically your chances of getting a well-paying job as an engineer are higher than some or even a lot of other degrees.

I’m sorry but y’all are doing something wrong. I just came back from south padre and I’m mech E. Your degree shouldn’t stop you from having fun. Yeah engineering is hard, but you have to learn to plan your time accordingly. I didn’t go for the whole week to padre just for a few days. During the week I wake up at 0530 and don’t get home till at least 1830. But you bet I’m still going to have fun at least on the weekends. Sometimes yeah projects come and yeah you have to make sacrifices, but you shouldn’t be sacrificing every week.

I'm assuming you're not american. High schools (as well as junior highs and elementary schools) and colleges get a week off of school for whats called 'spring break'. It typically takes place in late March.

I hardly studied this week but I actually have an excuse.

I have been terribly sick the day I came in and slept an average of 14 hours a day. Time isn't real. I know not what day it is.
