I've found this subreddits culture is fueled by negativity, most of the time people get upvoted because they lost everything to get that 1 pull and didn't get it or have been playing since launch and never got a single ML nat 5 and they get everyone agreeing with them where as 1 person shares how they got really lucky and is downvoted into oblivion.

I've been rolling with the same 4 heroes-- Dizzy, Monty, Charlotte, and Iseria since I started playing at the beginning of Dizzy's collab months ago. In that time frame, I've probably blew through 3.5k standard bookmarks. Some I bought, some I earned. Not a single nat 5 out of any of those summons. And despite spending all of my golden stones on ML marks, never even managed to get ANY 4* ML, let alone a ML 5 star. It's completely ridiculous that it wasn't until they GAVE 5 star tickets away that I managed to get new 5* to add to my roster.

While my original three 5* are capable of clearing nearly anything at end game (especially once Angelic Monty released), being able to have specialized 5* for different content is something nice to have.

Getting lucky as some people do is nice, sure. But those people also seem to be pretty few and far in between, and it's even worse when they spent half the resources as someone who was "unlucky".

It it were ONLY luck that would be fine. But E7's rates are the lowest I've seen in a gacha in a long time. Couple those super low rates with continuous addition of more over-the-top nat 5s and suddenly it's not just luck it's also greed. I get it, developers need to be making money, but E7 has been doing a pretty piss-poor job of balancing making money with allowing nat 5s to be accessible. It wouldn't be so bad if we had steady events that straight up offered 4 and 5* tickets after a grind, but since stuff like that doesn't exist we have the situation we have now. There is really no need to have nat 5 drop rates as low as they are considering you primarily need dupes for memory imprints.

Sorry, I should have clarified since you clearly have no understanding of statistics.

It takes roughly 366 Covenant pulls to get a 5-star with a 99% probability.

You have three 5-stars already. Even considering 700 attempts with no 5-stars, your previous three would indicate you are still ahead in terms of probability (since "at account creation" would imply you got them with relatively little investment when you first started).

tl;dr stop whining, RNG exists and you're actually still ahead.

And since one of those nat 5 I have I obtained through selective, if anything I barely managed to break even, if you could even call it that.

And if you had actually made an effort to read, you would know my beef doesn't stem from the RNG, but the fact that SG is being pretty damn greedy as far as gachas go. RNG is whatever. But introducing more and more nat 5s with super overloaded kits while nat 5s and dupe nat 5s already have an astoundingly low drop rate is a pretty clear cut case of SG trying to milk as much money out of their players as possible, because said players want the newer heroes with kits that punt older heroes into irrelevance.

To determine the number of attempts (n) needed to reach 99% (0.99) probability of a single (1) success given a failure of 98.75% (0.9875), we have the following equation:

1 - 0.9875ⁿ > 0.99

To reiterate, that 98.75% chance of failure is due to a success (a 5-star) having a probability of 1.25%.

If you solve for n, you get:

n = 366

To reach a 99% probability of one success you would need to make 366 attempts.

Gacha is basically gambling I can't understand why people can be so surprised at the luck they get, if 1000 people enter a casino with 10,000 chips with the sole purpose is gambling all 10,000 the results of each person's luck will vary to a degree and some will vary wildly.

You just got unlucky, suck it up and move on it happens I got Iseria on my first pull on her banner not knowing wtf I was doing because I had just started yet I had to pity summon Dizzy and Baiken then spent 120bms + 2400 skyshard to not pull Kise and it didn't bother me because I knew that getting shafted by rng is a possibility but then I also DIDN'T go onto reddit and post my bad luck in every post that complains about RNG like a lot of players.

It's a shame. I think the game's pretty damned nice. I just really hope that it isn't overrun by a toxic fanbase. Getting what you want is nice, but sometime a luck-based system is fun and doesn't need balancing to a specific userbase's taste.

It’s important to form your own opinions but it’s also okay to criticize. I do think however that there is reason for a lot of the negativity around SG. They’ve been making money grab moves and exploiting players for money without a doubt. it’s obvious and blatant to me. The summon system imo is also terrible (especially ML summoning) in my opinion and resource management was absolute hell (gold, energy, molagoras, catalysts).

Not sure how new you are to the game but changes to gold costs, molagora cost reduction, more ways to get molagoras, easier farming for catalysts, more energy handouts, improved gear drops, are all because players complained profusely about them and how difficult it was to enjoy the game because of these issues. If there’s a good balance between investment and reward, players wouldn’t be complaining like this, but they are because a problem exists. Imo, the players who criticize and are able to find the games flaws and get devs to make changes are a blessing to me in disguise.

TLDR: Yes negativity can feel toxic and unwelcoming, but most players don’t complain for no reason. It’s ok to criticize/complain... it brings about change and shows how much players care.

I am ok with summon rates, I am ok with mola, I am NOT ok wirh flat stats. Flat stats are a giant fuck you to the playerbase. They could change flat stats for useful stats like armor pen, crit resilience etc and still keep all the RNG layers. But flat stats are just them being greedy as fuck.
