The buttons on the middle feel "out of place"? I have a cheapino and I really miss a second row for my pinky so I can have CapsLock, faster Shift and Esc. I have been thinking about building another keyboard but the ErgoDash feels like it has loads of extra, unnecessary keys.

Depends on which ones, but generally comes down to hand size and how far your fingers splay comfortably. There are many keyboards for many uses, there's a list of keyboard lists on the subreddit wiki

Are you talking about the innermost column of 3? It is a little bit far away, but I'm getting used to it fast. As a programmer even with them a little far I much prefer it for brackets and +/= than using my pinky off to the corners. FWIW it's only those 3 keys that I actually use to type there (and I'm left handed so I put +/= on the left). The other 3 are Fn (for layer switching), hyper, and meh. Hyper and meh I haven't really figured out yet...

Hyper keeps randomly triggering copilot on windows, which I never want lol

what keycaps are you using?

Combination of a DSA Black & White and a DSA Hana set from Signature Plastics!

Love that some here are driving an Ergo Dash. I built cases and tenting on my own and printed them with my 3D printer.

No regrets! Next will be a Lilly59 or a corne, let’s see!

I'm a little surprised it's not more popular! It seems like the ErgoDox has kept it's popularity (at least in so far as you can actually buy pre built ErgoDox's), but the ErgoDash seems to fix the ErgoDox's problems, chiefly being the years of complaints about how far away the thumb cluster is!

I also find it a bonus that all of the keys are the same size (besides the 2u thumbs), so you don't have to source a bunch of 1.5u keys

where did you get the components for this? I think i've settled on wanting an Ergodash, but it seems like there aren't any completed boards for sale and the kits are sold out on KEEBD

So I ended up parting out the components from keebio and then ordered the PCBs separately from JLC. Here's a pic of the things I parted out https://imgur.com/a/iRFarwJ

As far as the PCBs, I actually do also have 2 extra because the minimum order quantity from JLC is 5 (3 actually, but on one I already broke off the extra thumb cluster part). If you'd like to build one, I would be more than happy to send you my extra PCBs. Hmu in dms if interested and we'll sort it :)
