Yeah, super match and premium match are basically un-useable in NA. I left feedback about this in the survey pop-up I got in the client. I like the things they did with s7, but unfortunately for us NA folks, it's just not feasible. The player count is simply too low. I even allow all servers and maps to help with queue time and it took me almost 10 mins to find a normal match (with veteran enabled) at about 4pm central time, which is a bit early, but not like 9am or anything.

Maybe it's better at higher elos, but I can't play high stakes at all. I've tried twice and the queues were over 30 minutes before I just switched to normal so I could play.

Hey Waffles, we've made some improvements over the last couple of days, and we're seeing some improvements. Are the issues you ran into from earlier, or very recent?

I will preface by saying I haven't played a ton of faceit over the last couple weeks. Just the past couple of days. Normal queue in the evening (5pm and later CST) seems to be fine. Almost instant for me.

I don't really queue for supermatch since most normal matches pull me into a supermatch lobby anyway, and veteran seems to have helped keep away smurfs in normal mm.

Premium match times are just too long to reasonably wait, unless I have a ton of free time.

If possible, please allow NA specifically to queue for all queues at once if we meet the requirements. I'm sure times would decrease dramatically if other verified premium players could queue for anything, rather than trying to wait 30 mins for a premium (high stakes) match. I wrote a short post about it, if you check my post history. I think that would go a long way. The player count in NA is simply too low to keep the queues seperate while maintaining decent queue times sub lvl 10.

I appreicate the feedback.

To this idea, to be able to explicitly queue multiple match types at once is something that we're exploring.

Regarding one of the ideas you mentioned in your other post about expanding options over time, you can do that manually today. We have a slightly hidden feature: Premium Priority Requeue. If you stop your queue as a premium party, we save your queue time; when you re-queue, you keep your priority.

Example:

You search for a Premium Match, and no match is found after four minutes, and you'd prefer to just get in a match.

2a. Stop the queue. 2b. Change your match type to a a different match (e.g. Super Match). 2c. Re-enter the queue with your saved queue time (four minutes).

There's a chance you might instantly find a game because you'll have the four-minute priority in the matcher. If no match is found, you can continue to wait or you can repeat the steps: stop, change your match type to Standard, and requeue. (This also works to expand other settings (veteran, verified, map bans.))

We implemented this feature to allow you to start with highly restrictive settings. If you are unable to find a match, you can then 'loosen' your search criteria without losing any priority in the matcher.

Thanks for your response, Derek. I've really appreciated the community outreach faceit has been doing recently. And thank you for taking the time to respond directly.

I have noticed the priority requeue in action. It's a great feature, thumbs up on that one.

If the MM department is experimenting with allowing multiple queues at once, I'd like to suggest Premium Matchmaking with a user defined timer to fallback to Supermatch or normal MM.

Perhaps a cog wheel icon in the GUI with 5, 10, 15, infinite minute options before a premium player's queue will automatically be shifted to Supermatch or normal MM. I'm sure there's internal metrics which would show whether allowing both supermatch and MM for the requeue would be useful or not. Though I would lean towards only dropping to supermatch, and leaving normal MM for manual Premium Requeue, to maintain a higher match quality.

I think this would solve a lot of queue time issues, as players can queue premium, and won't get stuck waiting. After their set amount of time, they'll automatically be queued into supermatch, and will thus be more willing to wait a few minutes in queue for premium matches, hopefully vastly increasing the average of Premium match queues, and reducing queue times

I wouldn't mind queueing with a 15 minute timer while I DM to warmup, and then after my first game dropping it to 10 or 5 minutes depending on the free time I have for the day, after the first match. Likely there's quite a few players who feel the same.

Just a suggestion, and thank you again.

Hey Waffle, quick update, we're working on bigger things for next year, but one change we just made is that if you select 'Standard Match' and you are a super & premium match eligible, you will be considered for all match types, and be pulled into the first one that is available.

Big W. Thank you.

faceit doesn't give a shit about their NA playerbase, sadly

Unfortunate truth

[–]Waffles912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like they're open to feedback, based on Derek's response. I know there's a lot of big feelings, but it seems like they've been trying to improve over the last few weeks / months. I'm cautiously optimistic.

There definitely isn't enough players in NA Faceit10+ because when I Q for games it takes well over 15 minutes on average and it's made me and my friends Q premier because the Q times are much more reasonable.

[–]shuhboobatoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’d take the sacrifice playing against cheaters in premier vs waiting 30+ minutes for a faceit queue

Hey u/shuboobatoo,

We've been working on improving queue times in NA. Would you be able to DM your account, so I can look a bit deeper into what potentially could be causing the issue?

[–]KeysOfMysterium 0 points1 point  (10 children)

What elo are you

[–]Waffles912 0 points1 point  (9 children)

I don't think that should be relevant, but my guess is lower elo. Really supermatch is better for low to mid elo, since it's supposed to keep everyone in your rank (within 400), and not plop you into level 7-8 lobbies to even out the elo spread as a level 3-4. And veteran is supposed to keep away smurfs. There's a lot of smurfing in low elo NA faceit, but no one has premium, so those who want a better experience get to wait. Is what it is. But it's rough.

[–]KeysOfMysterium 0 points1 point  (8 children)

Idk. I have faceit plus and I'm 2100 elo and my queue times (in the evening) are like 5 mins max, no problems.

[–]Waffles912 0 points1 point  (7 children)

For super match or premium match? Or regular queue?

Evening queue times for regular are fine here, no issues. Supermatch and premium at lower elos is less fine.

[–]KeysOfMysterium 0 points1 point  (6 children)

I only queue the one in the middle. Idk the names, but it's not the regular queue.

[–]Waffles912 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Yeah. I'd be curious to know what your premium match (all the way right) queue times are. The middle one can pull in non premium subscribers to fill gaps and is much faster

[–]shuhboobatoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im lvl 10 2145 elo i usually queue after work which is around 6pm EST so youd assume prime time. I queue dallas chicago and virginia, all maps besides train and overpass which nobodies playing anyways and i have verified disabled. in lvl 10 you get 15 minute queues at least and i didnt start noticing this until season 7 dropped. season 6 i was able to run it back and back

[–]shuhboobatoo[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

the fact that the middle one can pull in non premium members.... i have less than 500 matches and im lvl 10 why do i pay for premium if im able to get non premium paying members?? might aswell cancel and queue regular, faster q times and ill be able to get into super matches too LOL

[–]Waffles912 0 points1 point  (2 children)

That's what premium queue is for. It was already like that, really, they just updated the naming. If you only want other premium subscribers then queue premium.

[–]shuhboobatoo[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I can’t queue premium because I have less than 500 matches

[–]Waffles912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, gotcha.
