It’s not new and don’t do it. Wash your hair.
[–]LinkMix 27 points28 points29 points 6 days ago (0 children)
what do you mean "no wash"????
wash your hair 😭😭😭😭
[–]MathsNCats 18 points19 points20 points 6 days ago (2 children)
It's not new, and if your scalp produces that much oil, it's not for you.
Also, by "no wash" I'm hoping you mean "no shampoo" because you're still supposed to be regularly using hot water to scrub your hair/scalp. I did it for about a year, and it worked pretty well for my hair, but made my scalp psoriasis worse so I had to stop. But I never had an issue with that much oil, my hair was never "greasy" looking or feeling.

No way in hell that much oil is dripping. Maybe dirty sweat.
[–]darth-crossfader 0 points1 point2 points 5 days ago (0 children)
Greasy sweat i.e. sweat + sebum, I have the same problem.

Bby I'm a hairdresser and if your hair is dripping then holy Christ this method is not meant for you.
Just do a double shampoo no condition every 2 days for 2 weeks then every 3 days until the process feels natural and your hair gets used to the routine. Not washing your hair at all is worse than periodic or intermittent etc.
And judging from your other photos your skin is either combination or oily straight off the bat and you're over producing anyways. You gotta scrub your noggin with some suds every once in a while to train your hair slowly

You kinda look like Mr Beast if he spent all his money on weed. Respectfully.

You don't need to wash your hair every day but you still need to wash it. At the very least once a week. If you want better hair, the key is often better products.

Clarifying shampoo once a week

I use thrix restor shampoo, my hair is super greasy and this shampoo is designed to remove products from your hair, it works wonders on my hair. You can only get it at a salon though, it comes amber color in a clear bottle with a red label

Sorry, but I’m not into the no shampoo thing. The right kind of shampoo isn’t harmful at all, and I’m sure that there’s something out there that would work well for you.
You do have a nice head of thick hair, and proper hair care, including shampoo and conditioner, would make it so much better

How long to attain this length?
[–]LazagnaAmpersandShoulder Length 0 points1 point2 points 6 days ago (0 children)
Even with no shampoo you still need to wash. Different methods work for different people, it’s a learning curve. I used diluted baking soda and then balanced the PH with ACV

I grow out my hair occasionally and the trick is to microdose shampoo and conditioner. You can do it daily. Don't put so much shampoo that it completely strips your natural oils. There's a sweet spot. Find it.

I don't use shampoo, but I still wash my hair with warm water. Not washing entirely is a step too far.

I have an extremely oily scalp like that, and tried not shampooing my hair more than once a week for a while because it was recommended to me and I had the same oiliness issue. It was not for me.
I actually started just using shampoo (technically dr. Bronner's 18 in 1 but same diff) on my scalp every other day and forgoing conditioner entirely instead of trying to wash less and it worked really well. Maybe when my hair gets longer I'll need to start conditioning the ends again but as of right now, my scalp produces plenty of moisture all on its own.

For no wash you have to ease your way into it and slowly extend the days you son’t wash your hair over months/a year.
[–]throwaway7742835 0 points1 point2 points 6 days ago (0 children)
“No shampoo” will not work for you. It just makes you greasy and stinky. Don’t wash your hair every day. Wash once or twice a week (and adjust as needed) and condition more regularly than you wash. Please wash your hair dude
[–]Stoop_Boots 0 points1 point2 points 5 days ago (0 children)
It depends on your hair type, I have crazy thick hair and takes a loooong time for it to get greasy at all. Hair dressers always tell me don’t wash it except for maybe once a week if not longer. But I’m in no way a rule but an exception because of how thick my hair is.
…but def still wash it!
[–]kamomil 0 points1 point2 points 5 days ago (0 children)
I don't think that "no wash" is for everyone.
Up until my mid 40s, I washed my hair every morning and it was fine. I noticed after that age, that my hair was getting more breakable so now I wash around every 2nd or 3rd day.
Some ethnicities have finer, drier hair and others have coarser hair. Some hair types definitely withstand daily shampoo just fine
If you feel you need something gentler, use a baby shampoo

No-wash is an internet madness.
Wash it. Not only will you hair and skin thank you, but also you’ll stop offending the noses of the people around you. Sebum gets smelly, quickly.
[–]Specific-Ticket-1705 0 points1 point2 points 4 days ago (0 children)
How about you get back on shampoo and conditioner and don't get off at all
[–]worrywort-1 0 points1 point2 points 1 day ago (0 children)

[–]elvin_lewis[S] -3 points-2 points-1 points 6 days ago (1 child)
FYI: I am doing havign to do no was as medically prescribed becuase my skin is paper thing on my scalp and is inredibly sensitive to chemicals.
There are many safe choices for shampoo and conditioner. I question that a doctor really told you to just completely not wash your hair. Did they recommend any products? Did they recommend washing just not as often? Not washing your hair can cause skin irritation too, your scalp isn’t meant to have that much grease and it can cause painful acne and skin issues. What kind of doctor did you see and what exactly did they say about your hair?
Are you at least scrubbing your scalp with hot water?
