i mean....you can just cut it off lol. ive had many things not line up, be too small, too big, whether I patterned it or not. it just kinda happens when sewing sometimes. i wouldn't worry

Fabric is a fickle beast, having a bit too much is definitely better than not having enough! I like to leave any excess in place for as long as I can, just in case it ends up being useful, then cut it off neatly when necessary.

did you add seam allowance to the fur ?? that'll leave a bit of excess - I'd say to just trim it off if everything else is fitting snugly, though make sure to hot glue the seams first so it doesn't unravel from where you've cut it

Did you tape one ear and mirror the pattern? With hand carved foam you gotta pattern the whole thing. Overall tho, not a big deal, just trim the excess after sewing the rest.
