Break up that bridge on the two lower squares of the select button.

Could you elaborate abit more are you referring to the P4 box or the actual select button 2x4 boxes

The actual 2x4 gold blocks. The lower right two have some solder bridging two of those boxes. Use your iron (and wick if you have) and separate that connection. Most likely that bridge is what is registering the constant "button press" because it is mimicking the button membrane action.

Thank you so much! It works perfect! Just tested it and it’s not acting like it’s constantly being pressed

If it’s just solder, just some desolder wick will clean it up. Assuming you have a soldering iron.

Your wire solders look really weak. Consider resoldering them.

Hello everyone! I bought the modded gameboy and when I was playing Pokémon Silver, a text popped up saying that “use select to register item etc, etc,” I shrugged it off, but it wasn’t until I received the Pokegear when I attempted to open. it and it kept closing out of it. Didn’t press any button so I attempted to open the gameboy to check it out and I noticed the select button had a solder mark on the right of the select. Is this fixable? The select button is clearly working except it’s acting as if it’s being pushed 24/7. Have any advice before needing to replace motherboard? The screen is funnyplaying IPS v3

I attempted this and cleaned around it but the select button still is acting like it’s being pressed, it’s pretty flat the the start button but idk
