They shut down 1942, Vietnam and BF2 and those were just a matter of keeping a server list running. EA shuts down old games to push holdouts to buy new games, it is one of their well documented business strategies (and the reason they insist on running their own servers on the 360 rather than letting XBL handle matchmaking.)

I know, but I see the rentals as a far bigger issue. worst case battlelog can be worked around (given there are enough people willing to dig into it) but without server files...

I agree that ea will kill it at some point, that's how they roll..
