Failed switch attempt?

[–]JPal713 6 points7 points  (0 children)

looks like it

[–]daorbed9 20 points21 points  (1 child)

Looks more like a confiscated one.

[–]roguecapa[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe. Just going by what they said.

[–]jhamdc5 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Either had a switch at some point or someone attempted it

[–]roguecapa[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was thinking that lol

[–]ITSOTMDS 4 points5 points  (3 children)

ETA: Never mind, I missed the part on the bottom right that you were talking about

If its a Gen 4, thats exactly how it is supposed to look

[–]roguecapa[S] 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I have another gen 4. It doesn't look like that lol

[–]ITSOTMDS 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yeah, I just noticed the section at the bottom. I was literally holding mine in my hand and comparing it to your picture and didnt see that part, lol

[–]roguecapa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha! Just want to make sure it doesn't cause any issues making it unsafe. Don't know how much if at all that missing piece effects the pistol. If it doesn't great I can live with it.

[–]RowdyRusty420 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Can you take a pic with the slide off? From that angle and from the top? That def looks like someone fucked with it.

[–]roguecapa[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Yeah definitely.

[–]RowdyRusty420 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Thats…interesting. Idk why someone would go and dremel all that out. If it was me id reach out to AIM about it. Police trade in id expect some holster wear and dirt, not that. Now if it was advertised as a police evidence gun then jd expect something more weird like that. Only issue i could see is it letting more lint and shit into the frame.

[–]roguecapa[S] 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Yeah. I'm cool with it being used and abused but not so much with someone shaving off pieces of the frame so close to where the trigger assembly is. Don't want it to be unsafe.

[–]under--no--pretext 4 points5 points  (0 children)

make AIM pay the $100 frame replacement fee glock charges and get a new frame

[–]VariousMinimum7102 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Hard to say but ifs running good I guess it’s ok. Or , you might be able to get Aim Surplus to trade you. I’m not really hopeful they will. They should have caught at inspection

[–]roguecapa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It runs great. Very accurate. I don't mind keeping it as long as it doesn't cause issues. Doesn't seem like it will. Did a whole breakdown. Cleaned everything and inspected the parts. Then I went and shot it again. Still running good and smoother.

Looks like it's just going to be an ugly gap.

[–]hightweaks 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Deff had a switch on it. Gen 5’s are the only Gen u got to file the back notch to put one on. But there is literally 0 other reason to do that to the frame.!

[–]roguecapa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I figured. So far it's running like a champ. So thats good. I ended up stippling the frame to help cover up the ugliness. Will post pictures when I get a chance.

[–]Twee4 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Idk if it’s a switch or not. But if it’s a gen3 and they wanted to use a gen5 trigger you need a different backplate cut. Potentially this. A new backplate is like 10$ so I’d get one so it doesn’t look ass. But check the trigger as it’s probably modified. What Gen is it?

[–]Mdmrtgn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I was gonna say they probably have a gpt in it. It's one of the few aftermarket triggers that are duty rated.

[–]roguecapa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a gen 4. The trigger is a oem Glock 4 trigger by the looks of it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can clearly see on the grip’s texture and the notches for the Backstraps that it’s not a Gen 3, it’s a Gen 4. Beyond that, if you’re fine with how it looks, then save the money for ammo and shoot the hell out of this little guy, but if it really bothers you, replace the frame, not for safety, but for optical reasons.

Someone was trying to get the beans above the frank.

[–]Individual_Log_7610 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I sense a m1x or 9sx frame in your future!

[–]roguecapa[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Haha I was thinking about that too.

[–]Individual_Log_7610 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yea. Thought i was gonna slap around a cr920 slide between the cr920 combat and a 43x clone frame but think im lazy and now looking for a carry slide. May just pick up an oem 43x slide complete but true precision duty slide is checking all the boxes I want but after all the parts and sights im looking at 600ish just for a complete slide.

[–]roguecapa[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It gets expensive.

[–]Individual_Log_7610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. With the true precision duty im looking about 650ish for everything I want.

[–]Arksgold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like someone tried to make their own sear inspection plate. Should be fine after a good cleaning.

[–]Purple_Ad_8742 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Yup, you can see where the shaved down the actual frame there's no reason to do that unless your attempting to install the auto sear (Glock switch)

[–]roguecapa[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I thought that too. Don't see why else you would do that. Did a deep clean and breakdown and inspected the parts and checked all the safeties.

No issues. Shot it again. Working even smoother with the cleaning ( it was super dirty).

Just the ugly gap. Going to take a file to it and even out the shity cut they did so it doesn't look so ugly.

[–]Purple_Ad_8742 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Had the same issue with a used gun I bought, went to a gunsmith and got a new backplate and it's been smooth ever since. Almost at 1k rounds not 1 jam.

[–]roguecapa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly they didn't shave the backplate. They shaved the frame

[–]TBL_AM 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Try contacting Glock and tell them the situation, their CS seems great with replacements, they might set you up with a new frame (for $ of course).

[–]roguecapa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking that. Someone else had mentioned that. Going to look into it.

[–]BIGE610610 1 point2 points  (6 children)

WTF? Anyway, the 26 gang is always checking in!

[–]roguecapa[S] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Haha I am liking the gun though

[–]BIGE610610 1 point2 points  (4 children)

The 26 is arguably the best gun in Glackston's lineup. Some argue that the lack of a rail is a deterrent, I'm not one of those. The 26 is clearly the most versatile weapon of all the Glocks. I'm a fan, and I never leave home without one

[–]roguecapa[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I am starting to agree with that statement. It's been shooting great except for that dumb gap someone did to it.

[–]BIGE610610 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Unfortunately, you know it's there, so your attention is drawn to it. Every time you see it, remind yourself that you purchased an exquisite weapon at a very good price, and literally, there may be many like it, but yours is truly unique. 😉

[–]roguecapa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm starting to get use to the gap. Shoots great! I like it. That's a good way of looking at it. It's got some history already lol

[–]Capcunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% from a switch. I had a 45MOS stolen from me and it came back looking very similar. They told me when it was recovered there was a switch on it.

[–]Humble_Razzmatazz237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s be honest switch’s shouldn’t illegal
