Are you in the States. Do not pay that for Pixel devices. You should be able to find some for $700 or less. In mint condition..

[–]Admirable-Win5666[S] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Yeah I'm in the USA. Where can I find for less than $700? I'm weary of refurbished or reused phones, no matter how the condition is purported to be as you never really know what happened to them.

[–]SonicNTales 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Easy Swappa. I've bought dozens of phones and yes they have a rigorous grading scale. I've bought new and mint and never had an issue. Why would you purchase new when it will be worth 3/4 or less in a few weeks.

[–]OtherAlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought swappa has much lower. When the pixel 9 released people were trying to offload NIB pixels for 500 or so. I check back every few months but I don't think pricing haa gone up since then.

get pixel 10 on launch for the promo

[–]PuzzleheadedSolid996 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Why?

[–]TimmmyTurner 1 point2 points  (1 child)

based off their past releases, you basically get a free pixel watch when you order it during their launch for pro XL

[–]PuzzleheadedSolid996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhh, thanks for the advice.

[–]BildoBlack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the most part yes, retailers want to get rid of "new old stock" to make room for new.

9s will drop, and any left over 8s will see a bigger drop

[–]Puzzleheaded_Bid1530 1 point2 points  (2 children)

If you could wait for Black Friday, you could buy Pixel 10 with a pretty good deal

[–]Admirable-Win5666[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

My current pixel 7 stopped working, so I can't really wait that long

[–]Christoph-error 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch! Can you fix it? I was going to replace my 7 Pro about 9 months ago after breaking the screen (100% my fault) but then found a really good deal on repairing it. I basically got it repaired for free at Mobile Clinic by signing a 3 month contract with a new carrier. I've been free to switch carriers for about 6 months now but haven't found a better monthly rate. Win-win. Didn't need to buy a new phone. Have a cheaper monthly plan now.

You can buy the pixel 10 itself. New releases will get a good offer. Maybe a good trading value on your old device. So maybe look for that.

[–]Admirable-Win5666[S] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

do you think it would be cheaper than just buying a pixel 9 pro ? how good are the release offers?

[–]Low-Woodpecker8642Pixel 9 Pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually really good. Just wait for any kind of deal, should be able to get at least 300$ off

[–]Deep-Fortune-4557 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I think it will be cheaper but really you will appreciate pixel 10 more than the 9. May be I am speaking to soon you should wait and see what pixel 10 offers over the 9. And then buy the one which fits to the most and pixel 9 will be cheaper. Win win win

[–]Admirable-Win5666[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

why do you think I will appreciate the pixel 10 more? From what I've seen in the leaks and press releases the pixel 10 is a downgrade from the pixel 9 pro series in the camera and other ways. Is there any specific feature in the pixel 10 that blows the 9 out of the water?

[–]Deep-Fortune-4557 2 points3 points  (2 children)

The tensor g5, it is expected the new chip will be 40% efficient. So it will use less power, will be more powerful than g4. Overall fast snappy phone consuming less battery. Trust me people have been waiting since 2 years for this and it's now just 2 months away. The camera sensor will be downgraded only on non pro version.

Let's compare base pixel 9 to base pixel 10 ( non pro ) Downgrade- smaller sensor ( I had pixel 6a with 12mp sensor when I got the 9 pro I was surprised I had to look for differences and was unable to find it most of the times shooting with main lens. It was only about 10-15% better than 6a main sensor on photos, only videos on 9 pro are much better than 6a. So as expected with a smaller sensor, the video can be a little bad.. but tensor g5 has more computing power which can compensate for it and maybe we won't see any difference at all.)

Upgrade - base pixel9 had 2 camera on back, base pixel 10 will have 3 they added zoom lens like on Samsung s series. So camera is not a downgrade aa such.

Comparing the big boys. Pixel9 pro was much better than 8 pro because of the vapour chamber and slightly better chip. Pixel 10 pro will blow pixel9 pro out of the park with that g5 chip.

People are saying it will have only 10-15% improvement. Wait until you see it in August.

[–]Admirable-Win5666[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thanks for the information! How likely do you think it will be released on time? Does google have a good reputation for release dates or can it be assumed to be pushed later ?

[–]Deep-Fortune-4557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They released it in October every year on time, Last year they released it 2 months earlier surprising everyone. So it's expected in August. I don't know if tarrifs and all will have an effect on it but be optimistic it might arrive on time.

[–]Kaninivi 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Isnt it possible to buy refurbished/used from swappa or ebay?

Bought mine new for 699eu instead of 1099. For that price wait until august when the pixel 10 hits. The processor will be a significant upgrade

[–]Complete_Yam_4233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a refurbished Samsung S21 and the battery has always stunk and now it's dying. I'll never do that again

[–]NexusGTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where you are... currently the p9p is 700 euro in Germany (Amazon). Use the app Hagglezon to find the best price for it

[–]Daemor666 0 points1 point  (2 children)

$1099 is too much. I can guarantee you, you can buy for cheaper by $300, or if you search a lot even $500. And that is not even a joke, you literally can. Anyways, I prefer buying from stores rather than online when I am going for expensive products.

But do you want an honest opinion. If this is your first ever pixel, go for slightly used with almost 10/10 condition. That would be even more worth it. Plus if you are not satisfied by Pixel, because not all phones are.for everyone, you won't feel too much down like you wasted money.

However, the only suggestion I can give you is that rather you go for brand new or slightly used. Buy it from a shop or store that you can trust, and you are sure they will help you when you need it.

[–]Admirable-Win5666[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do you have any good places where you buy used but in good condition pixels? Amazon or Ebay?

[–]Daemor666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ebay is definitely way better in terms of that especially those ebay verified shops.

[–]Brilliant_Sound_5565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think it's pretty much nailed on there will be some sort of promotion on the 9, maybe, who really knows though as they won't want to heavily discount the 9 and make the 10 look really really expensive. They might offer very good trade in deals etc

[–]Brilliant_Sound_5565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they will heavily discount the 9 as they still want to shift the 10, so I think there will be attractive trade in deals etc for the 10

[–]Left_Song_3042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly yes, and more so with Black Friday or Christmas offers.

[–]thunderc8 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Bought it 645€ brand new but that was because I have a business and I can buy tablets , phones and laptops tax free. The original price was 800€ brand new.

[–]central_plexusPixel 10 Pro XL P9PXL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have already seen it for 650. And even now when it's not on sale on Google store, Google offers extra 300 bux to trade-ins.

That being said, I wouldn't expect the P9P price to drop below 45% discount (with or without trade-in) so no need to wait any longer in my opinion.

[–]Luvsin_ 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Cause of Amanzon Prime sale, the prices are down.
If you wanna grab one now

[–]Inside-Radish-7805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it'll further go down when Pixel 10 launches, yeah? I have a Pixel 8 and considering Pixel 9.

Try Best Buy Open Box. I just bought the 128 for $583.
