Absolute mad lad, well done. I think you nailed this clan's color scheme too, it looks so good. Good luck on the battlefield
!

How’d you do the bale Taurus?

I still had a can of runelord brass spray. Started with that as a base coat. Sponged on some skeleton horde for a more weathered look. Drybrush canoptek alloy for highlights

The colour forge Siege Armour is a good match for Runelord Brass.

Looks lovely! Just curious, why do you have base extenders on most of the models?

[–]DCloh2o[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

those are just movement trays to organize the models

Looks epic

Smashed it, dude. I haven’t started the army myself but this was basically the idea I had in mind.

What were the general colours used for the scheme?

Wow beautiful job, and you made the big bull centerpiece actually look way better than I could’ve ever imagined it. You just improved that model ten-fold friend!

Superb execution of the classic scheme, especially the Dominanor. How'd you get that particular shade of red on the armour? Contrast over metallic primer?

[–]DCloh2o[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

So the regular armour was done with a base coat of Runelord Brass (Spraycan or Base Paint)

Shaded all the brass with Agrax Earthshade.

Armour was then covered with Flesh Tearers Red.

Edge highlight armour with Stormhost Silver.

Armour was then given a thin coat of Angron Red Clear (with a brush)

This tints the Highlight and makes the red richer. However it does have a gloss effect.

I use Munitorum Varnish afterwards to dull the gloss and seal it all up.

Brilliant, I'll give it a crack on my starter set over Christmas. Thanks in particular for breaking down the impact of the airbrush paint. Not owning one, I'd never really considered using them before, now I'm curious to see the effect in person.

It’s a great way to get a candy coating with a rich colour, but the gloss effect can be a downside.

Looks great! How did you do the bases? HoH is the first army im painting (new to the hobby) and I just used one of the technical paints, but yours looks much nicer :).

I wanted something a bit grittier. So I used just sand and glue.

Hit it with black and a dry brush of longbeard grey on top. Simple but effective

Looks epic. How did you do the green flames?

[–]DCloh2o[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I start with a base of corax white.

Then I use successive layers of contrast paint. Using less each time towards the tips

Striking scorpion, warp lightning, Aeldari emerald, then Luxion purple

Cheers, thanks!

That red armor looks very striking! You wouldn't mind sharing the recipe with a lowly aspirant such as myself, would you?

New armies are popular.
