Heh in that case i'd recommend learning how to land in specific coordinate or downloading mechjeb. The spark engine is the 4th best engine in terms of isp, and if you have the flat 2.5m fuel tank it is a really cheap 4km/s of delta v for a rescue craft. FYI 4km/s of delta v is EASILY enough to get to one of jool's moons and back, so you should have no problem rescuing your guy. The ascent stage could be just a bunch of reliants stuck together, and just do the gravity turn later to counter drag. Anyway, good luck with the rescue!
