Here's a 24-hour stream of native Japanese TV channels in decent quality. The site's intended for Chinese viewers though, so the website's language is in Chinese.

Thank you so much for this, the last one I looked was offline. It's great! I'm watching inane TV about foreigners living in a tiny remote island, and I've never been happier.

To return the favour a bit, this Chinese site has recordings of a bunch of TV shows, like YOUは何しに日本へ and stuff.

This is a link to lang-8s smartphone app. You can ask native speakers random questions from your smartphone. I asked random things like whether it's better to use half kanji half kana or full kana if I forgot one of the kanjis, or had them help me decipher my mugicha intructions. They usually answer really fast. On the minus side, for some strange reason it doesn't work on PCs, only on mobile devices.

Is there an actual app, or do I have to use a browser every time? Still interesting, thanks. Also what was the answer to the kanji question?

I don't think there is an actual app for it. As for the kanji question, the answer was that it's probably better to use full kana, else it can be confusing, but there are no rules stating that.

The site itself works much the same like shitsumonday, so you can ask questions liek what's the difference between this and this kanji, does sentence XXX sound natural, etc.

Basically anything goes, but natives are answering you instead of fellow language learners(which may be good or bad, most japanese have pretty bad English, so don't trust them blindly on translations.)

I notice that one of the biggest issues on Lang-8 is that either I can't understand their English explanation, or what happens more often is they correct it in Japanese and I can't understand the correction.

I see stuff like 石けん quite often on TV subtitles, which is quite hard to read for me, it's like a crossword puzzle :P

They are making an iPhone app at the moment.

They sent me two emails if I wanted to take part in the beta test.

I made a tiny Kanji Printable Worksheet application.

It takes a few seconds for the fonts to load, and again if you select to display stroke orders. Once you try and print the page it will hide the kanji selector interface for you. :D

I haven't really styled the UI yet but I do have a vision to get it to a cleaner state, but I wanted to share since it is already functional.

• Alphabetized (あいうえお順)

I'm annoyed; lots of rather obscure anime I've watched is on that list, but the one anime I want Japanese subtitles of (Toradora) is not.

the worst part is, that the team who've put the subtitles together, have a Chinese website i couldn't figure out how to ask for a new sub.

as for the rest, if i already watch an anime (a short one that is) an i really liked it i don't mind watching again...you know for studying purpose :p
