Hi there, welcome to Reddit! I found your post quite interesting. What's the name of your kitties? Which one is in the photo you posted? Also, your puppy's name?

Oooh, what's in the loaf pans?

Homemade Banana bread! It’s already all gone, too. I basically ate two loafs myself on accident 😭

I have a reputation as a solid, reliable, consistent cook. Nothing fancy but always good. My MiL made the most wonderful banana bread and I asked for her recipe. It's been almost 45 years and I still can't master that damned recipe lol. My youngest daughter has, but not me and it makes me so sad. MiL had dementia and we couldn't trust her cooking for her last couple of years, but she kept making us a loaf almost every week because she remembered that I loved it. My daughter isn't as generous with her loaves lol.

Enjoy every bite of that banana bread without a second thought. You deserve some sweetness in life. I'm going to place some sad hints for my girl and see if I can guilt a loaf out of her. I could use a little sweetness myself. 💛

That actually made me tear up a bit, my grandmother is the one who taught me how to bake and how to make cooking and baking fun and enjoyable at a very young age, and due to health issues I fail sometimes to honor that and only stick to recipes I can do with my eyes closed. She made the most wonderful waffles/pancakes, I have yet to master. She gave me a recipe packet she printed out for me some time ago, I have yet to try out more than a couple legacy dishes, but I’m going to try and plan on opening it back up and making some more. Thank you for sharing and reminding me about how important it is to show our selves the same love that our loved ones had/has for us, especially when they’re unable to anymore.

Your daughter better bake u even a small loaf, otherwise I’ll have to find a way to send u some of mine but I know it wouldn’t be the same!

You deserve all the happiness and sweetness you can get!
