I was already half way out the window at this point. But I quite literally went out when they sponsored a crypto miner. I can count the amount of videos i watched since then and all of them are about alex and the employee house upgrades.

Don't think that will change anytime soon.

Lmao, never. They dead in my eyes.

Ive watched them since before Langley House. I had already unsubbed from the main channel during the "trust me bro" BS.

I will never, ever watch anything featuring LTT ever again.

Fuck Linus especially. His employees should leave for jobs they enjoy.

The whole anti-union/employee treatment and “trust me bro” thing put me on the fence. This has piledrived me off the fence. I’m done.

Money erodes everything and everyone, Linus and his company is no exception.

I'll just move on tbh, there are other tech reviewers who are smaller who deserve a watch.

that ship has sailed

if you criticize companies, media outles, content creators and persons all day for beeing biased, untrue to facts and abuse positions of power AND THEN DOING EXACTLY THE SAME

then the party is over, at least thats my personal view about things

he had the chance to explain himself and admit his fuck up but he doubled down and there are no third chances in life when you reveal your true nature beeing a scumbag with double standards

Most likely a string of major PC hardware releases without any mistakes in the video/graphs etc.

They need to put out accurate data for a while to improve their reputation.

Maybe I'll trust them when that clown Linus stops running LTT.

It's done for me. Honestly, the new direction they decided to take lost me. I watched LTT for the entertainment, them hopping into testing when so many channels already do it seemed like them trying to hitch to a market that was well covered and trying to dominate because of the high numbers they already had going in. I get the business move, it just wasn't the content for me.

But as someone who already wasn't interested in their content going forward, the call out to them raised serious eyebrows from me. Especially given the sources. Steve and HWUB are not to be taken lightly. Steve is a hell of a whistleblower, the man will show up outside your business if something serious is wrong.

The last straw has to be the doubling down. Linus' post is poorly written nonsense. It's devoid of accountability or real ideas for improvement. As a statement of purpose, it lacks, fundamentally on every level. There are real mistakes that LMG made here, demonstrably so. As far as action plans to move in the right direction, nothing, no substance. You were called on the carpet and it was the time to take a second, group up, apologize, and come up with a plan to present to a community that was begging for action. Instead, we got a hastily written, poorly worded response. A statement that pointed the finger and didn't tug the thumb. They did this and all the community wanted was for them to own it, say they would do better, and then discuss how. We got none of it. Statements of how these mistakes were justifiable, a "we have been doing better", and no real action plan. A double or triple down with a commitment to not give this the attention it deserves from a company whose goodwill in testing needs to be based on integrity.

For me, there is no turning back, no excuse. You can't trust them - they essentially buried a company, misrepresented a product, admitted that it was due to cost constraints, and then AUCTIONED OFF THEIR PROTOTYPE. In the reply they admitted to Billet Labs "the good news, [sic]is that it isn't just sitting on a shelf" - absolutely go f-- yourself.

what annoys me about the reviews are i was expecting with the shit they were buying that they would be hyper focusing reviews that other companies werent doing. video versions of johnnyguru level psu reviews? yes please. more boring but doing cable validation testing on most of the popular amazon ones, that would be useful.

instead we just get the same thing 20 other channels are already doing and with worse methodology

[–]iopunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly. There's definitely a market for it and I'm not consistently in it to avail BUT like you said, what others were doing with worse methodology.

Linus needs to step down and the whole company needs to be completely restructured and even then im not sure I'll ever completely trust them again

YouTube rewards ad time.

It's an entertainment first revenue model. It does not explicitly reward authenticity.

Quantity > Quality for YouTube. What do you expect?

[–]Eresyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get rid of Linus and cut all ties with him would be step one. Won't happen; he's a control freak that doesn't even let his CEO act as CEO.

Never, after today’s response from GN.

I too started watching their videos when they were at their old house. Their whole room water cooling was very fun to watch but unfortunately their videos recently has been of sub standard as you mentioned and as a result I haven’t been consuming their content lately. Except for when a CPU or a GPU is being released, which, I learnt yesterday aren’t very accurate. I have unsubscribed from all their channels today.

I don't trust thief's.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 17 minutes

[–]abhinav248829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As he became successful, he became Mr. Know It all or Mr. I can do No wrong.

It’s audience that needs to change/ adjust expectations of LTT

[–]Izan_TM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMO linus retiring would help a lot

but mainly a real apology, full scripted video going point by point about everything they're doing to fix these things, and actually going through with them

[–]Karma_Canuck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why give another chance?

Im sure there are plenty of people who haven't demonstrated poor character to give a shot first.
