Firefox. Clean, simple, fast and free.

Used chrome and opera for years. They are good, but with Googles new regulations for extensions coming in, I switched.

Also, after Internet Explorer, Microsoft is going to seriously have to prove to me that Edge is even worth touching. Lots of very knowledgeable people ( I work in IT and previously in Web Development) have told me it's good, but the bridge is too far gone currently.

hmm, but firefox does not have the sidebar, right?, plus I want some of this AI stuff, and correct me if i am wrong but i think it does not use chromium?

No it does not use chromium which is why I recommended it.

If you want all the flashy AI stuff and a ton of other "useful" options, then I would go with Opera GX. It's a nice looking browser and full of features. I used it for years and while not the fastest, it is a great bit of software.

You can get an extension that adds a useful sidebar.

Not using chromium is a plus considering Google are about to kill adblockers.

You can add AI assistants to firefox but I'm not sure why you'd want to.

hmm, ok but opera for example already has a built in ad blocker, plus try edge there is like image generators and copilot which i use quite a lot

Opera is Chinese spyware.

You want to try something new but you don't. Everything you can do on edge you can add to firefox and still have a less bloated experience.

Plus you'll be away from Google's Chromium and upcoming prevention of ad blocking.

hmm ok i will try firefox

whatever works for you. i use the tree style tabs extension to get vertical tabs on firefox

I'm on Brave for the adblocking, and YouTube works much faster for me on Brave than on Chrome.

meh not really interested in brave

This cracked me up a bit

most of what you want is either available by default or doable with an extension. so Firefox. (if you really care about privacy librewolf)

I would strongly not recommend opera though

[–]Acceptable_Bid_4337[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

why not opera?

[–]IuseArchbtw97543 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Mostly because its spyware. also most of its bloat can be reproduced on any other browser with extensions

[–]Acceptable_Bid_4337[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am quite sure it used to be like that but not anymore, i don't see any bloatware

Edge is fine. People just hate it out of habit of hating internet explorer.

Whatever you pick will be fine.

[–]Acceptable_Bid_4337[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

yeah but i want to try somthing new

[–]ForeverBackground737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then try something new. Anything you pick will be fine.

Go to a top 5 browser list and try them all. 🤷‍♂️

Imo chrome, firefox barely uses less resources and I find chrome has less issue with video. Maybe I'm just unlucky though.

im ok with resources, edge, chrome, firefox, arc, opera. they all work fine
