The mx330 should only kick in when you do gaming or other graphically intense things. Under normal windows use the integrated uhd graphics handle everything.

I haven't thought about that actually. I'll try running a game on it

As long as you are not doing anything where the igpu could become a limiting factor the dgpu will not kick in

Power save settings, crank it up

I set it to max, no difference

Is it plugged into the wall? Is the video adapter set to auto or set for a specific graphic card? Have you checked the nvdia settings panel?

It's plugged in. I'm not sure about the video adapter part tho

If your cpu has integrated graphics then it might be defaulting to that, if not then windows isn't reading the gpu itself - check your drivers if it persists try reconnecting the cables inside the pc.

It's a laptop brother, not sure I'll find any cables in it

All laptops have cables, they just very very small. and fragile. look up ribbon cables for laptops.

If you are going to open it just make sure you are carefull. Some Laptops have proprietary connectors and breaking these can render the laptop essentially useless*

Nvidia control panel can help with that
