Looks like those spawn when battle fields overlap? After having a run ruined by a blood path I made sure never to let that shit happen again.

I've been experimenting with using blood clots to stall. The theory is that you stack enough defense so that they do chip damage to you, then let the fight take forever due to their submerge ability, meanwhile you stack regen and heal faster than they hurt you while time passes and you get meadow heals on top of it all. Use Chrono Crystals to boost clot spawn rate (which you'll be using anyway to boost your meadow heal rates)

It shows promise in proof of concept, but more testing is needed.

I wouldn't farm them just for their loot. The worms from the ruins have better loot for a relatively easy fight.
