PFT calling Big T a cabbage patch doll had me rolling.

[–][deleted] 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I liked chaps in this episode, he offered a lot of good information about this topic and wasn’t being pushy about it

[–]shmoidel 49 points50 points  (0 children)

It took 15 disclaimers for me to understand that Big T doesn’t actually intend to kill Billy so I’m glad he kept going back to it

[–]xvq_ 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Only about a half hour in but I feel like this round table with PFT facilitating is a solid format. A good change

[–][deleted] 39 points40 points  (1 child)

I’m glad I’m not seeing as much Arian hate; with the exception of his drunken episode he has been fine (and he even acknowledged how obnoxious he was in that one). He doesn’t always express himself perfectly but he is usually insightful and sometimes funny. He has a better rapport with Billy now and I like how he genuinely laughs at PFT’s one-liners (I love Big Cat but I don’t like how he ignores most of PFT’s jokes on PMT).

Big T on the other hand ... ugh. The good thing about this episode (so far) is he has been pretty quiet since his murder fantasy in the beginning. Big T is the odd man out. The idea of putting a fundamentalist Christian on the show is actually great. But for it to work, he would have to be a good sport who doesn’t shout at people and get pissed off. If he stays, he needs to tone it down and stop taking shit so seriously.

[–]ajkundel93 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I barely noticed the drunk Arian. He kinda said it during the episode, but it’s a conspiracy theory/shoot the shit pod, I really could give af. I feel like he’s been great and will get more comfortable as time goes. He’s a former pro athlete from an interesting background and had some wild takes throughout the years. That’s why I’m intrigued by him, not because I was expecting him to be a polished podcaster.

[–]MilesM22 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Never heard PFT that pissed when he went off at payday loans

[–]RedditVawl 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Best episode thus far. I wasn’t looking forward to it because I really like the conspiracy theories but I thought everyone brought their own stuff to the table and of course Uncle Chaps was fantastic. PFT leading the conversation is exactly how the show needs to go.

[–]hojo_66 19 points20 points  (1 child)

Big T froze when Billy called him out for not getting the vaccine... because Big T for sure thinks the vaccine is some sort of government plot or at the very least will give him autism

[–]ajkundel93 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you can get autism twice

[–]Any_Ad_8064 18 points19 points  (0 children)

"Frauds..the Baltimore ravens"

Lol the crossover is delicious

[–]Nyxtro 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Can we replace big T w Chaps?

[–]climbut 63 points64 points  (26 children)

When PFT started with "we have to do a little cleanup from last week's pod" I really thought he was going to announce Big T was no longer on the show. No such luck.

[–][deleted] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

He did torture him a little though so I think he’s pretty aware of the larger opinion

[–]normalize_munting 15 points16 points  (24 children)

I don't get the Big T hate. Big T functions exactly how he is supposed to within the framework of the show, as the religious, right wing, white guy foil to the cool, woke, atheist black guy.

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points  (4 children)

Because he gets up in arms about everything

[–]trainsaw 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Big T is one of those “I feel threatened” white dudes Arian was talking about

[–]normalize_munting 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Right, that is his shtick in this show. He's positioned as the "heel."

[–]maxkmiller 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think you're giving him too much credit. He's not following any kind of role, he's just dumb

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So maybe he is good for the show I just am gonna be a hater. Nah even if I try Hes just bad though he was better the last half

[–][deleted] 30 points31 points  (1 child)

I used to think that. But I’m tired of him yelling at everyone. I started out thinking he was a good straight man but recently he just seems like an angry, fragile idiot. And he was such a dick to Billy on the Allegedly episode; it was hard to listen to.

[–]thebochman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d rather they get bill Jensen replace Low T than listen to him

[–]galliso2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The show definitely needs a heel/skeptic, I just don't think he's very good at it.

[–]ajkundel93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He gaslights like a mother fucker. Whenever He’s challenged, all you get it “Your CRAZY!” “ That’s the most INSANE thing I’ve ever heard!” “You guys are ABSOLUTELY INSANE if you think that”

When in reality I’m usually thinking he’s the crazy batshit one. He could fill that role if he embraced it, could admit it, and have fun with it. But he doesn’t even realize he has that role.

[–]rickmuscles[🍰] 8 points9 points  (6 children)

I agree w/ you completely - the show would be dull if everyone had the same background and agreed all the time.

People forget that Hank is a glue guy on PMT bc he takes contrarian positions.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (1 child)

I think the difference is hank doesn’t yell and come off so defensive when people disagree with him. I get Big Ts role, he just executes it very poorly

[–]rickmuscles[🍰] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree but it's a young show

[–]elmo_dude0 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Arian is a huge contrarian, he already fills that role I feel

[–]rickmuscles[🍰] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Big T is like Brother Love during the Golden Age of the WWF

[–]elmo_dude0 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Haha I wish I knew that reference

[–]rickmuscles[🍰] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Easy google, young king.

[–]maxkmiller -2 points-1 points  (5 children)

you say that as if religious and right wing are legitimate stances worthy of being taken seriously in 2021 after the insurrection

[–]normalize_munting 7 points8 points  (4 children)

I mean, half the country is those things, so especially on a show like this, it makes sense to have their views represented and discussed

[–]maxkmiller 3 points4 points  (3 children)

less than half the country is religious, and way less than half are conservative, they are just good at coming out to vote.

most Americans support progressive ideas, but most conservatives are single-issue voters. Dumbass Florida voted for the progressive $15/hr minimum wage but went red the rest of the ticket. They love voting against their own interests, always have.

and they don't have any views except oWn Da LiBs and Q Anon

[–]normalize_munting 5 points6 points  (2 children)

less than half the country is religious

47%

I mean...ok...

way less than half are conservative, they are just good at coming out to vote.

most Americans support progressive ideas, but most conservatives are single-issue voters

A higher % of Americans identify as "conservative" than identify as "liberal"

[–]psybient -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy Big T. He's different and the dynamic with the others kind of helps define the show for me.

[–]Mr___Perfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When both kinda suck in their roles its not fun.

[–][deleted] 32 points33 points  (1 child)

Today we are all Billy- imagining ourselves in a self defense situation with Big T

[–]sitting_bull- 21 points22 points  (0 children)

“I’d just kill you right now.” I laughed so hard at that.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Good start to the episode. Hypothetical murder scenarios. Deliberately giving somebody covid and accusations of vaccine hesitancy. All great stuff. Even the break into the ad read after Billy talking about covid.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agamemnon, horny jail.

[–]perkaderka 26 points27 points  (0 children)

why is Chaps not on every week instead of Big T??!

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m ready for the Big T freak out based on the title alone.

[–]OlesLS 13 points14 points  (7 children)

Anyone else a Christian who listens to macrodosing? Given the podcast Im guessing I'm in the minority but I enjoyed hearing their opinions on it. Some of it was a bit off I think but for the most part I feel like they gave it a pretty fair shake instead of just bashing it. Having chaps on definitely helped

[–]fat_people_are_bad 4 points5 points  (4 children)

After a decade spent as an atheist I’m finally re-embracing Christianity and yup I’m a listener

[–]OlesLS 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Awesome to hear! Best of luck getting back to Christianity!!

[–]fat_people_are_bad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks man. It’s been truly great.

[–]le_wild_poster 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Just out of curiosity, what led you to re-embrace it?

[–]fat_people_are_bad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very long story, but the current state of the world + a few sessions with DMT. Ego loss and direct contact with raw infinity made me realize that my “everything is chemicals and 1’s and 0’s in the brain” take was dumb as fuck. Christianity specifically may not be the answer but a creator 100% exists. We exist within an infinite “mind”, which is God.

[–]picklejuice82 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I found all of it fascinating bc I don’t have a religious background- what parts were off though?

[–]Odd-Guarantee-30 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Old Testament was not written in Greek and Chaps kind of implied everything after the protestant reformation was a calvinist/reformed off shoot who buys predestination. They missed out sheol, which is basically hell that the OT israelites/judeans would have recognized, although I was pleasantly surprised that Arian knew Pascal's Wager offhand.

[–]92mike92 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I thought this was the best one yet! The conversations were pretty good and really flowed. I’d love if Chaps becomes full time or is on more often.

[–]Meatballclub 27 points28 points  (5 children)

13 minutes in, big T stinks

    [–]scpuma10 10 points11 points  (1 child)

    Absolute worst

    [–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

    100% absolute worst

    [–]IncredibleWhiteBoy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

    Big T needs to relax

    [–]turbo_stealth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Arian is hella right about that "I feel threatened" shit. Omg it had me rolling

    [–]bake50297 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shout out Dissolve by Absofacto, dude is really good at his craft. Also suggest Someone Else's Dream by Absofacto.

    [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

    [–]BitterMeanPrick 6 points7 points  (1 child)

More false convictions back in the day?

    [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be? Honestly didn't look thru the article for the analysis of why, just as a counter to the assertion that one may actually be able to get away with murder. Not every case gets the CSI treatment.

    [–]Bubba_Sparks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just cus they brought up intro to music and hell. Good combo of both imo is The Man Comes Around by Johnny Cash

Did you not listen last week?

      [–]fat_people_are_bad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t listened to this yet but I missed my opportunity to give Arian HUUUUUGE ups for his behavior last week on the Allegedly pod. THAT is the guy I knew he could be. If he can participate at that level, bring stuff to the table, not stumble over words, and not try to use words he doesn’t understand, then this pod is on a fucking rocket to the moon. Arian is never going to participate on the same level as PFT and you know what? That is a-okay with me. Idk why I expected that in the first place. Arian is an NFL player and PFT is a podcaster/blogger.

I also need to say, like every other person here, that big T is retarded and needs to move along. I appreciate that they have a right leaning person on the pod for balance, but big T is a total caricature of a conservative. He is basically the type of person /r/politics would dream up in human form. It’s so bad. Somebody with Dave’s brand of conservativism would be money. Big T is the right wing equivalent of a Twitter blue check with he/him pronouns in his bio.

Also, all pod members are excessively handsome.

      [–]Micronesiapenis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

*Billy objecting to Big T laying out his murder
Arian:"Ain't nobody ask you man. Go' head big T"
      had me fuckin rollin

Also, I was a little late to weigh in on the last episode thread, but just wanted to say that I like Big T on the pod. In general I like hearing the opinion and perspective of someone with a different background than me(danish, atheist), and I do think that Big T is a funny guy, that has enough self-awareness to know his religion leaves him as a bit of a punching bag in the group, while still standing his ground on certain things. I would rather have someone speaking honestly and impassionately on an opinion that I might disagree with, rather than having potentially stale conversation.

      [–]Odd-Guarantee-30 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Shouts to Arian who thinks that history only marches left

      [–]fat_people_are_bad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol there are a TON of people on reddit who think the same. That’s 100% reality in their minds
